Cricketer Suresh Raina visited a forward post on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir to boost the morale of troops posted there, a defence spokesman said today.

"Raina's visit (yesterday) was a morale booster for the troops deployed in the harsh and rugged terrain of Kashmir," the defence spokesman said.

He said the cricketer was acquainted with the challenges a soldier faces when deployed on the LoC.

In his interaction with the troops, Raina applauded the efforts made by the Indian Army jawans in keeping a constant vigil on the Line of Control in harsh weather conditions and in the tough terrain of the area.

He shared some light hearted moments and personal experiences with the soldiers and also shared a meal with the troops.
