Talk to Tata to Solve Singur Issue: CPI(M) Leader to TMC

Senior CPI(M) leader and Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Surjya Kanta Mishra today demanded that the Mamata Banerjee government immediately initiate talks with the Tata Group to sort out the Singur land issue.

"Now that Ratan Tata has retired and Cyrus Mistry is the new chairman of the group, the state government should immediately initiate talks with the Tata Group to sort out the Singur problem," Mishra told a meeting of the Krishak Sabha at Alinagar in Hooghly district.

The state government had earlier said they would start talks with the Tata Group after Cyrus Mistry takes over as its chairman, he said.

The Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal should complete its full five-year term because she has never finished full term in any government, he accused.

Whenever Mamata Banerjee became a minister in the Centre she quit the ministry over one issue or the other, he claimed.

The Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal assembly alleged that none of the ministers in the state government had real power as all of it was with the Chief Minister.
