The governance of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as well as former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's foresightedness came in praise from Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan today.

"Jawaharlal Nehru's foresightedness in having technical institutes set up in the 50s is the biggest benefit that India today has. It has created the real capital, the human capital, in India," he said during a discussion at the World Economic Forum conference being held here.

"A leader or a statesman has always long-term plans. He thinks way ahead of us."

He also had words of praise for Kumar, who is set to visit Pakistan this week.

"Nitish Kumar has given good governance. He has shown that if the governance is right, if the leader has integrity, and is selfless, you can fix the state as bad as Bihar was six years ago," he said.

Kumar will lead a high-level delegation to Pakistan from November 9-16. He is scheduled to visit Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad and will return by road through the Wagah border.

In 2003, RJD chief Lalu Prasad had visited Pakistan and became hugely popular with his humour.

A Pakistani delegation, which had visited Bihar in August, extended invitation on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahwaz Sharif, brother of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Kumar to visit that country.
