The Lucknow Police has arrested three local representatives of the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM).
Four cases had been registered by the students of the IIPM in Hazratganj Police Station which included charges pertaining to providing fake marksheets and fraud.
The police is said to be looking for Delhi-based CEO of IIPM, Arindam Chaudhury.
According to Crime Branch SSP Ravinder Kumar Singh, Assistant manager Kunal Singh, resident of Aliganj was arrested along with Abdullah Khan, resident of Hasanganj near Shia College who was described as Relationship Manager of the institute and another employee named Faiz Khan, resident of Jankipuram.
Some students of IIPM had registered a complaint of fraud on June 4. Three more cases were registerd later. SSP Rajinder Gaud had handed over the cases to the Special Investigation Section (SIS).
The Dainik Jagran reported that the IIPM claimed to be running regular BBA and MBA degree courses when it only had been authorised to offer Mahatama Gandhi University Meghalaya's distant education course.
Instead of taking the regular fees for the distant education course, the institute was allegedly charging fees in lakhs.
