Love Jihad Will Be a Bypoll Issue in UP: Yogi Adityanath
send via whatsapp

Love Jihad may not have been a part of the BJP's offiicial agenda but it seems that the issue will play a big part in the upcoming byelections in Uttar Pradesh when eleven assembly and Mainpuri Lok Sabha seats will go to the polls on September 13.

Yesterday, the party appointed UP BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai, Union minister Kalraj Mishra and Aditynath to lead the campaign for the bypoll in the state.

The controversial Hindutva face of BJP in UP who is also an MP from Gorakhpur said, "The issue of 'love jihad' would certainly be an issue in this bypoll".

"I have been raising this issue for the past four to five years. The menace first began in Kerala and has now spread to Western UP, " he said, adding that the worst part is that the ruling Samajwadi party has been turning a blind eye to it.

Yogi is known for leading campaigns against illegal cow slaughter, illegal infiltration by Bangladesh immigrants and forced conversion.

The saffron party's two-day convention in Vrindavan remained mired in controversy over the issue of 'love-jihad' — allegation that Muslim youths lure Hindu girls into relationship for conversion, but the BJP has avoided making it a part of official agenda.

Yogi said that it was however a part of the overall problem of law and order that had been discussed over the two days.

This act of comedy by the Sikus and Jehadi crowd is really hilarious.

Till yesterday they were abusing the girl and today the Sikus are praising her.

Surely the girl is going to say tomorrow her first statement of Love Jihad was the true one and this change of position is under threat of life etc.

So again Siku Jehadi crowd will go and her .

This drama of Adrak ke Panje goes on !

If she lied then what is the guarantee she is not lying now ??

Denying rumours of “love jihad,” a 22-year-old woman from Meerut, who earlier alleged gang rape and forced conversion sending western Uttar Pradesh on the boil in August, said on Sunday that she had run away with a Muslim man out of her own free will. She approached the police complaining of a threat from her family, and in a written statement, denied rape or conversion.

Denial gives the lie to BJP claim

When the woman allegedgang rape and forced conversion in August, several BJP leaders, including Yogi Adityanath, the BJP’s bypoll campaign in-charge in the State, took up the issue.

The allegation by the former madrasa teacher came close on the heels of the Saharanpur riots, sending western Uttar Pradesh on the boil. The Sangh Parivar and affiliated groups took up the case as a textbook example of “love jihad” — the headline-grabbing term used by Hindutva activists as an Islamist conspiracy to lure and convert Hindu women.

Right-wing Hindu groups launched an elaborate campaign in the State against “love jihad” in which they claimed Muslim men lured Hindu girls, tricked them into marriage and forced them to accept Islam.

‘Threat to my life’

“I was staying with my parents, but I ran away from home because I feel a threat to my life from my parents and relatives,” she said in the statement. “I went with the boy belonging to a different community out of my own will.”

The man, Kaleem, and eight others were arrested after she alleged on August 3 that she had been abducted, gang-raped and forcibly converted to Islam.

“The girl ran away from her house and approached a women’s police station on Sunday morning after which she was presented before the Magistrate, Satya Prakash Rai. She requested that she be allowed to stay in Naari Niketan [government facilities for women] after which the Magistrate sent her to the Meerut Naari Niketan,” Superintendent of Police (Meerut Rural) M.M. Beg said.

By Atul Chaurasia

Some of the steps taken by the government have left a particular community worried. These decisions include providing Z+ security cover to Sangeet Som

The govt should decide on the security level based on the opionions of the Atul Chausasias and the jehadis. Why bother about the input of intelligence agencies?

The scums who get so agitated about security to Som, are perfectly okay with security to Geelanis, and Yaseen Maliks. This is the kind of secularism they want the govt to follow.

Muthalik finds cases of ‘love jihad’ in state, cites RTI info.

Even as they insisted that they are not looking to make “love jihad” an election issue in Maharashtra, the Sri Ram Sene and the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti claimed Friday that at least 22 such cases were registered in Maharashtra over the past five years.
