A local court today asked the Goa Government to hand over an unedited copy of the CCTV footage of the area near the lift at a hotel to senior journalist Tarun Tejpal, where he was accused of sexually assaulting a colleague, last year.
Tejpal had requested the fast track court for the footage which was part of the chargesheet filed by the crime branch earlier.
He had sought footage of the above mentioned space for a time period beginning November 7, 2013 when the crime was alleged to have been committed till November 29, the day he was arrested.
His lawyers have maintained that the proof of Tejpal's "innocence" lies in the footage which was procured by the investigating agency.
The founder-editor of Tehelka is lodged in jail here in a case of alleged sexual assault.
In its chargesheet filed on February 17, the crime branch accused Tejpal of rape, sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman.
