BJP Leader Suggests Gujarat 2002 Model for Riots
send via whatsapp

A member of the BJP’s national executive and general secretary of the party’s Karnataka unit C. T. Ravi stirred quite a controversy by "tweeting" inflammatory comments on July 27 over the Saharanpur riots in Uttar Pradesh.

C.T. Ravi tweeted: "Only the Gujarat model, that worked from 2002 in containing their rioting elements, can work. Apply across Bharat."

However, the original tweet cannot be found on his timeline anymore.

According to reports, Delhi-based lawyer and activist Shehzad Poonawalla who is associated with the Congress party has already petitioned the National Human Rights Commission saying that he is using social media to fan communal passions.

Intolerance, the new normal in the Modi yug

What emboldens the Singhals, the Togadias and other Hindutva activists to raise the threshold of hate speech is perhaps the knowledge that with Narendra Modi at the helm, they are safe, says Bharat Bhushan.

With the ambient temperature of Hindutva rising in the Indian social discourse, the question is whether Modi is letting the situation drift deliberately. He has not yet become the inclusive leader that the high office he occupies demands of him.

Whats there to hide the days of Muslims are over, just see the support what Nagaraj gets for his views.

In this rise in intolerance both sides are guilty and the root is the very provision given during partition by Mahatma that those willing to stay back are welcome to.

May be Netanyahu approach as suggested by Nagaraj is the only way India has hopes in.

Given the way things are ,they will get worse before they get better.

What will happen will happen.Jai hind

Inflaming communal hatreds and promoting riots has become a basic BJP DNA. They cannot live without it.

Hindus cannot even talk while Muslims can kill with impunity.Only a Netanyahu type strong approach can save this Hindu country.
