Just seven days after getting elected from here, former Army chief and BJP MP V K Singh has asked the district administration to submit the details of all the development projects, including Metro.
Local BJP leaders said that after getting details of the projects, Singh will prepare his "action plan" for developing the constituency.
Singh, who won the elections with a margin of 5.67 lakh votes defeating Congress leader Raj Babbar, today wrote to District Magistrate SVS Ranga Rao.
In his two-page letter, Singh also inquired about the expansion of Metro in Ghaziabad and its status.
The BJP leader has also asked about current status of National Highway in Ghaziabad and numbers of government schools and college.
Singh also inquired about unauthorised colonies and government's plan to regularise them.
"Is there any plan pending of regularisation of unauthorised colonies? Besides, How many bus shelters in Ghaziabad and is there any plan to increase the numbers?" Singh asked.
More power to VK Singh and his ilks.
The retired army general bringa a military-like efficiency to his job. He will keep the government officials on their toes. Unlike the voters of Amethi and Rae Bareli, the voters of Ghaziabad have chosen the right person to serve them as an MP.
Smriti Irani would have made a great MP for Amethi. The man they elected is hardly going to attend the paliament and even if he does, it is highly unlikely that he will ask questions or participate in debates, if one goes by his track record over the past two terms.
