Train Services Hit in AP Due to Cyclone 'Laila'
Even as coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh were experiencing heavy rains, under the influence of cyclone Laila, the South Central Railway (SCR) today cancelled two trains and partially cancelled 36 trains while diverting 13 other trains, officials said.

"Due to heavy rains and anticipated cyclone, all trains on Vijayawada division of SCR are moving at a restricted speed of 60 kmph. Because of this trains will be running late," a spokesperson of SCR said.

Depending on the severity of cyclone, trains may be stopped enroute and some trains cancelled, she said.

The Express trains which have been cancelled for today are Train No.7482 Tirupati-Bilaspur Express and Train No. 2842 Chennai-Howrah Coramandal Express.

Similarly, the trains which have been partially cancelled are the Tirupati-Adilabad Express between Tirupati-Vijayawada while Adilabad-Tirupati Express was cancelled between Vijayawada-Tirupati. Vijayawada-Chennai Janashatabdi, Secunderabad-Gudur Simhadri Express, Tirupati Kakinada Port passenger and Vijayawada-Gudur passenger were among the partially cancelled trains, the officials said.

The SCR has also set up following helpline numbers: Vijayawada railway station 0866-2767295 and emergency control 0866-2767077 and 2767078. It has also opened special counters at 14 railway stations on Vijayawada division.

Due to cyclonic weather, the SCR also diverted 18 long distance Express trains today.

Patna-Bangalore Special Train which is regulated at Chirala and will now be diverted to run via Renigunta instead of Dharmavaram.

Guwahati-Bangalore Express which is regulated at Bapatla and will now be diverted to run via Renigunta instead of Dharmavaram.

Thiruvanthuram-New Delhi Kerala Express which is regualted at Kavali, is re-routed via Gudur, Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda, Kazipet and Ballarshah.

Yesvantpur-Howrah Express which is regulated at Ulavapada from 0800 hours is re-routed via Gudur, Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone depending upon Cyclone. The train will be either routed via Nandyal or Kazipet after it reaches Dhone.

Pondicherry-Bhubaneswar Express which is regulated at Singarayakonda from 07.00 hours is re-routed via Gudur, Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone depending upon cyclone condition movement. The train will be either routed via Nandyal or Kazipet after it reaches Dhone.

Chennai-Jammu Tawi Express which is regulated at Nellore, is re-routed via Gudur, Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda, Malkajgiri bypass, Kazipet and Ballarshah.

Rameshwaram-Varanasi Express will be routed via Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda, Malkajgiri bypass, Kazipet and Ballarshah.

Bangalore-Patna Express will be diverted to run via Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda, Malkajgiri bypass, Kazipet and Ballarshah.

Chennai-Hyderabad express will be diverted to run via Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone and Secunderabad.

Howrah-Chennai Coromandel express will be diverted to run via Guntur, Nandyal, Gooty and Renigunta.

Howrah-Yesvantpur express will be diverted to run via Guntur, Nandyal, Gooty and Renigunta.

Nizamuddin-Chennai Rajdhani express which is regulated at Warangal will be diverted to run via Kazipet, Moula Ali bypass, Kacheguda, Dhone, Gooty and Renigunta.

New Delhi-Trivandrum express which is regulated at Khammam will be diverted to run via Kazipet, Moula Ali bypass, Kacheguda, Dhone, Gooty and Renigunta.

Dhanbad-Tata Nagar-Alleppey express will be diverted to run via Dhone, Gooty and Renigunta.

Secunderabad-Tirupati Narayanadri express will be diverted to run via Kacheguda, Dhone, Gooty and Renigunta.

Tirupati-Secunderabad Narayanadri express will be diverted to run via Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone and Kacheguda.

Bilaspur-Trivandrum express will be diverted to run via Kazipet, Moula Ali bypass, Kacheguda, Gooty and Renigunta.

Darbanga-Bangalore Express which is regulated at Nidubrolu will now be diverted to run via Renigunta instead of Dharmavaram.
