SRK Should Move to Pakistan if Insecure in India: Saeed

26/11 mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed has sought to create mischief  by asking Shah Rukh Khan to move to Pakistan if he feels ‘insecure’ in India.

Saeed went on to say the actor will “enjoy all the freedom that he wants in this country”.

Saeed was responding to an article in Outlook's special issue Turning Points in which Shahrukh Khan wrote, inter alia, “I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India... I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighbouring nation rather than my own country...”

Saeed, responded to this on Pakistan’s Express TV channel by saying, “Shah Rukh is welcome in Pakistan and he can live here for as long as he wants.”

Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently in the UK,  is reported to be quite pained by this remark but has refused to comment.

A source close to the actor clarified that Shah Rukh Khan had made the comments regarding his religion only to point out how he remains fiercely patriotic to India, notwithstanding those who drag in his identity as a Muslim into everything.

" He’s one of India’s most secular actors," the source said.
