Police Officer Allegedly Killed by Naxals in Chhattisgarh
A police officer was allegedly shot dead by Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.

Police sub inspector Nilesh Pandey (27) was shot dead by Naxals last night near Chinger Nala under Kutru police station here, Bijapur SP Prashant Agarwal told PTI/Bhasha over phone.

Pandey, who was posted in Farsegarh police station, was going to Bijapur last night when the Naxals stopped the bus and forced him to come out, Agarwal said, adding, his body was recovered this morning.

The body is being brought to Bijapur, from where it would be sent to his native place Bilaspur, he said.
