Seven Pakistani security personnel were today kidnapped by unidentified armed men in the restive northwest, state-run media reported.
The security personnel were abducted from a bus while they were returning to Bannu in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province from the garrison city of Rawalpindi after a vacation, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
Officials were quoted by TV news channels as saying that the men were abducted somewhere along the boundary between Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
The security personnel were travelling to Bannu from Rawalpindi after a vacation in their hometowns. The armed men identified the security personnel before taking them away.
No group claimed responsibility for the abductions.
The kidnappings occurred three days after the Pakistani Taliban killed 22 militia personnel they had kidnapped from check posts near the northwestern city of Peshawar.
