A public interest litigation seeking a ban on the release of Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Returns for alleged objectionable scenes was today filed in the Allahabad High Court.
The PIL has been filed by advocate Sushil Kumar Mishra who has alleged that the movie, scheduled to hit the screen later this week, contained "objectionable scenes and dialogues which may create unrest among members of the Hindu community".
The petitioner has sought to implead the Union Ministry for Telecommunications, the Censor Board, the movie's producer and director Rohit Shetty, besides Devgn who plays the lead role, as parties.
The PIL, which has been filed in the registry, is likely to come up for hearing before a bench on Thursday.
The movie is scheduled for release on Friday, August 15.
