Man Arrested for Facebook Posts on Sibal, Mulayam
A government official was arrested today for allegedly posting objectionable content about Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Union minister Kapil Sibal on social networking website Facebook.

Sanjay Chaudhari, a civil engineer with the state government, was booked under IT Act here for uploading derogatory cartoons and posting objectionable comments on the two leaders, SSP Agra SC Dubey said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has also been registered against Chaudhari for trying to disturb communal harmony by making undesirable comments against a particular community, police said.

The engineer, who also runs an NGO, has pleaded innocence claiming that some unscrupulous elements uploaded the content after hacking his Facebook account.

In November last year, two Mumbai girls were arrested for allegedly writing objectionable comments relating to late Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackrey.

The arrests had sparked nation-wide anger among the civil society activists and the intelligentsia, who had accused the administrations of misusing the IT Act.

IT act in India !

Dont write against Sonia, Rahul, Kursheed, Chidambaram, Sibal, Digvijay ....

Dont write against their supporters Mulayam, Lalu, Paswan ...

You can write whatever you want on Advani, Sushma, Modi, Jayallalitha, Naveen Patnaik ...

This is Democracy in India.

Baba Saheb wrote constitution to give freedom of speech, not selective freedom of speech.

>>Interestingly there is no outage in media like they did when 2 girls were arrested on facebook comments on Bal Thakare.

There was no outrage in the media when a person got arrested under 66A for writing about Karti Chdambaram. There was no outrage when two AI pilots were arrested under 66A. There is no outrage when 66A was slapped against Jadavpur University professor. There will be no outrage now. The only outrage is when you link Bal Thakare to 66A.

I want to know how anyone other than my "friends" on Facebook or my "followers" on Twitter are able to read what I write. Are these "private" or "public" conversations? Is Big Brother reading my emails also?
