Delhi: Rickshaw-Puller Allegedly Molests Six-Yr-Old, Held

A six-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a rickshaw-puller while she was on her way to school in central Delhi's Daryaganj area, police said today.

The incident took place in the morning yesterday, police said, adding that the accused, identified as one Mohd Ali, has been arrested.

According to police, the family members of the victim have complained that Ali used to molest their child while ferrying her to and from school.

Yesterday, after the girl reached home, she told her parents that Ali had behaved improperly with her and touched her in an inappropriate manner. The victim also alleged that it was not the first time Ali had misbehaved with her.

A case under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered in the matter at Daryanganj police station, police said.

" How did you determine that a six-year old girl was lying?"

As far as Miss O'G is concerned, what matters is the gender, not the age. If it is a female, then she is a liar by default.

Miss O Gynist,

you obviously believe the media verbatim.

How did you arrive at that conclusion? I have said nothing about whether the allegations are correct or wrong nor for that matter does the report. It is just a statement of facts - a complaint has been made, a case has been registered, the accused has been arrested. Somehow in your warped mind, reporting of factual events becomes an offence.

And this, since there is no other means of verifying the report or its nuances, given the antimale hate in the media, is wrong.

Marvellous argument. I cannot verify the allegations therefore, they must be false. In the first place it is not your or my job to verify allegations - that is the job of the police. More important, you have gone on and on but refuse to answer one simple question.

How did you determine that a six-year old girl was lying?

" ...don't have to answer any questions because I made no comment on whether the complaint is genuine or not..."

The adamant refusal by the media to give the version of the accused if he is a male, is a clear indication that it has something to hide.

Secondly, in case of gender-sympathy provoking reporting, it is clear from the pattern of reporting that the antimale media is scared of admitting the existence of another version.

But of course, in the case of the second point, you obviously believe the media verbatim. And this, since there is no other means of verifying the report or its nuances, given the antimale hate in the media, is wrong.

Do you expect the male rickshaw puller to write on Outlook blogs?

Miss O Gynist,

What kind of gender biased reporting is it, that adamantly refuses to print the version of the accused, if he happens to be a man? Have you considered answering your own questions yourself first?

I don't have to answer any questions because I made no comment on whether the complaint is genuine or not.

All the report says is that a complaint has been made and a case has been registered. The report makes no statement about the guilt or otherwise of the alleged perpetrator. Yet on the basis of this information, you have determined that the girl is lying and refuse to explain on what basis you arrived at that conclusion.

Obviously you have no explanation for your opinion.

"Sick reponse. Answer the following questions.
1. How do you know? Were you in the presence of the girl and the rickshaw puller at all times?
2. What motive does a 6-year old child (or her parents) have for fabricating such a story?"
