Sources said the government has brought back retrospective clause in the bill which was dropped earlier following the opposition from several Ministries.
The proposed legislation, rechristened as Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land
Acquistion, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, will now be in force with retrospective effect, they said.
The Bill will be applicable to all cases of land acquisition before the date of commencement of the Act if the award under the 1894 Act has not been made, they added.
Government sources said the bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha next week.
This is going to introduce more License Raj - this time it will be Sonia style. The 70/80% approval is only where private enterprise is involved.
Corrupt govts can acquire land at their will and after a few years they can hand it over to the likes of a Robert Vadra.
