The BJP office here reverberated with drum beats and bursting of crackers today as party supporters celebrated the party's victory in Gujarat assembly elections.
BJP workers at the party office danced to drum beats, set off crackers and offered sweets to each other as the news about party winning the Gujarat assembly polls spread.
"People have reaffirmed their faith in Narendra Modi's leadership through this verdict which is also a slap on the face of those who had written off the Gujarat CM as communal," state BJP chief Bishan Singh Chufal said.
Congratulating Modi on his win, former Uttarakhand CM Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank said it was a victory of the politics of development.
Karnataka unit BJP described the mandate as a "vote for development".
Chief Minister Narendra Modi-led Government sought vote on the development agenda and people approved it, state unit President K S Eswarappa said in a statement here.
"In Karnataka also, the BJP Government has performed well in the last four-and-a-half years. We will seek vote on the basis of development and hope people will vote us for power in the next year assembly election", he said.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal congratulated Modi for the BJP victory in Gujarat Assembly polls.
Badal said that Modi has "scripted a new chapter in the state's polity."
In his message to BJP President Nitin Gadkari, Badal described the Gujarat poll results as "people's verdict in favour of good governance, overall development and pro-people policies aimed at the welfare of the all sections of the society."
BJP executive member of Punjab Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina lauded the efforts of Modi for guiding BJP to victory in Gujarat.
People of Gujarat have voted for development, he said.
Meanwhile, BJP activists at Jammu celebrated the party's victory in Gujarat polls.
BJP's victory is an inspiration for party members in other states, state party chief Shamsher Singh Manhas said.
The third successive win in the state reflects that people of Gujarat have appreciated the developments carried out by Modi government, he said.
