Achuthanandan Accuses UDF of Trying to Protect Kurien
Lashing out at the Congress-led UDF government, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan today alleged that the Kerala government was trying to protect Congress leader P J Kurien in the Suryanelli gang-rape case.

"The state government's approach is to protect Kurien in the case. It is condemnable," he told reporters here.

The victim has been repeating the same statement what she had said 17 years ago on the issue, the veteran CPI(M) leader said.

"The girl's mother has also written letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the issue. You (media) also might have read it," he said.

The Congress leader has all along rejected the charge and the demand for his resignation from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, saying it was a matter which had already been cleared by the Supreme Court.

To a question on his next step after receiving the case diary relating to the 'Ice cream parlour' case, Achuthanandan said, "all necessary things will be done. I will go to the High Court and Supreme Court."

On senior CPI(M) leader M M Mani's controversial remarks at a public meeting in Kozhikode district that all attacks the party had carried out at Onchiyam were "part of CPI(M)'s resistance", he said such remarks were "unnecessary."

Marxist rebel leader T P Chandrasekharan was killed on May 4 last year at Onchiyam in the district.

Kerala is full of lecherous politicians. cases of suryanelli, calicut ice cream parlour, Neela Lohidasan Nadar etc. are best known. Neela Lohidasan Nadar tried to molest secretary of ministry but Nayanar had the courage to kick that fellow out of the miinistry. That is not the case of present UDF which is begging every partner not to desert it.

Digvijay singh would have vouched for the scalp of any  non congress person or particualarly if one is from the BJP if was was accused in a rape case. Why media dosent ask him about his silence on Kuriens case. The media dosent hav that spine to ask him because he is the most powerful person in the congres after the Gandhis.

congress believes they are the only Saints and the rest as sinners. And the media which kneels when asked to sit in front of the congress is helping the congress willingly or unwillingly.

For the congress as long as a congressman remins in the party they ill go to any extent to defend him.Look in the case of jagan Reddy. He went rebellious and challenged the Gandhis and paid a huge price. The media did not poject the case in its right perspective. If Jagan Reddy was sill to be with the congrss and kneeled before the Gandhis then he would never have been raided by the CBI or ED or IT and ill gotten millions would have been safe.If Jagan could have millions then most of the congres chief ministers and their son will have it too.

Kurien should resign from Dy Chairmanship of Rajaya Sabha . Such an august Chair can't be occupied against whom accusations of Rape are being leveled by the raped girl ,her family . Even witnesses though deposed against him their statements have been ignored by the Court .
Soon the debate of new anti Rape Law will be on the floors of both the Houses with what face Congress will face the Nation and the Parliamentarians ???
