>> In which Pankaj Mishra defends racists: From the article

It actually reminded me of “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (Raju Becomes a Gentleman),” one of many Bollywood films to assert that rising Indians can conquer the world in their own style…..In one of these movies, a song mocking the anglicized Indian — that in rough translation goes something like this: “I have become a gentleman, and started to strut, look at my suit and boot, like a white man from London”

Did RBGG also have this? The original was in Sagina

From British Raj to licence and permit Raj is  Nehru's contribution to India.

We might have won political freedom from the Brits but we had lost our economic freedom on the same day he took over as PM. Surrounded by such rabid communists like VK Menon, Mehalonabis etc and carried away by his personal ambitions for fame in the international scene, he did gross injustice to the entrepreneurial capabilities of Indians and that left us poorer than those nations that got independence later than us. The glaring disparities that we see in India owe much to his policies which tried to control every aspect of making a legitimate living.

John Oliver and Jon Stewart are funny as usual.
Mind you, in Murikan drawing rooms, no leader exist outside Murika, other than few assistants in white world of europe.

Manu Joseph on other hand remains same bitter jerk. Paddling the same venom, same lies; being same dishonest; what is new?

Very unfortunate. Dinesh Trivedi had said that he needed more financial resources to improve the safety record of the railways. That must be the priority. One part of that would be a gradual increase in passenger fares.

Saroja (#1),

Is that in Modi's handwriting? HELP!!! That can't be. That is very similar to my handwriting. Say someone else wrote it & Modiji signed it.

Bitterness seems to be eating your soul if this is the only thing you have to write.

" When Nehru becomes irrelevant India would be just another Pakistan!"

If India had a Nehru, Pakistan had a Jinnah. The political visions of Jinnah and Nehru were very similar and together, they were responsible for the vivisection of India since they allowed personal ambition to prevail over the common good.

If India had an Indira Gandhi and her brand of populism and dynastic politics, Pakistan had its Bhuttos.

The difference between India and Pakistan is in the religious demography and not in the political philosophy of the ruling parties.

The difference is in the attitude of the armed forces who have scrupulously stayed away from intervening in political affairs.

The legacy of Nehru:

1. Poverty - his economic policies ensured that the economy developed at the snail paced "Hindu" growth rate of 2 to 3 percent which was woefully inadequate to eradicate poverty.

2. Dynastic politics

3. Kashmir problem, article 370 etc

4. Pampering the PSUs, which are a huge drain on the economy, due to Nehru's distrust of the private sector.

5. Lack of focus on much needed land reforms which could have led to the dismantling of the feudalistic caste hierarchies, the bane of rural India, because most Congressmen hailed from land owning families.

Any impartial reader can juxtapose Nehru's ideas on the economy with that of Rajaji's and it is no-brainer to as to whose ideas were more relevant then when India was emerging from colonial rule and today, in the globalised, technology driven economy.

Modi will deliver all kinds of lovely speeches except he will never condemn his people who do violent acts.He deliberately keeps a blind eye. That is a strategy he prefected in Gujarat. His party BJP RSS and their cohorts will continue their violence and Modi will keep a total silence and project an image that he has nothing to do with it.He may even visit the victims in a hospital but will never condemn or stop the violence.

Commi traitors are chinki agents in India. This is what they have been doing from last 50 years. These shameless goons were the biggest supporters of despot Mao in 1962. During rule of congi nicompoops rule they were agents of chinki thugs in the parliament. They should just be put in jail without trial for treason .

A tutorial. What is the difference between the gold standard economy and fiat currency economics?
The gold standard economy consists of 3 entities. Stored gold owned by the nation (or plutocratic banker), the govt and citizens. Gold sets the value for ALL currencies of trading nations. The economy can expand only with additional gold. For example Rome went down the drain when it ran out of gold. More close to current times it also happened when USA dropped the gold standard in 1971. When gold is not the standard each currency floats and trade allows a balance to occur depending on what each currency will buy. Each govt sets the value by fiat. Between govts it is set by bargaining.
The gold standard terminology is set by the balance
Federal tax revenue + debt payments to the pile of gold + debt payments to citizens= govt expense to operate the nation (build infrastructure, educate the people, run the govt, army etc)+ money spent on net import.
Ideally the nation would keep the pile of gold constant or augment it. (The Islamic raiders were motivated to steal the gold and that is part of Indian history.)

The fiat economy has no gold and the balance is
FISCAL DEFICIT –TRADE DEFICIT = PRIVATE SAVINGS – PRIVATE INVESTMENTS in which FISCAL DEFICIT follows the role of gold. It is apt to rename FISCAL DEFICIT by BHAGYALAKSHMI, the goddess of gold and wealth and prosperity. There is one difference. The pile is infinite! You can never run out of BHAGYALAKSHMI. The economy can continue to grow. Fiat money is therefore SUPERIOR to gold money. The proof is not hard to see. India has BHAGYALAKSHMI. Europe has none. This makes Greece, Portugal , Italy, Spain struggle. Eventually only Germany will survive. When nations trade among themselves there is only one winner. Have you heard of the board game monopoly? You can also look at actual data at

@D-124/1. There would have been no India without brahmins. One example Chanakya exhorted all kings to put up a united front to repel Alexander. Withot that Brahnmin there would have been a lot of small kingdoms, mostly islamic. Kautilya was the old economist during the Gupta empire, very prosperous. Vidyaranya was the Brahmin that started the Vijanagar empire by teaching two muslim boys to start the empire.

Don't knock them. They did it for for patriotism and to uphold Dharma. Not money.

This continuous quarrel made me think of this. Hindus have no passion to convert other religions for the Hindhu Dharma because Hindu Dharma emphasizes the individual and not the collective because if the individual is happy, so will the society. Hindu civilization has no interest in expanding territory and tampering in other peoples’ affairs. Hindu Dharma is the most secular of all religions. It allows any type of worship of any god or no god also. This suggests to me that our religion can offer in India, Muslims to come back to Hinduism if they want to come back. This will benefit women stuck in Islam who are basically persecuted with minimal rights. I saw a movie on the sufferings of women who are stuck in jails in Pakistan for trivial offences (against Sharia law) and can’t get out even if they are innocent because the courts can’t decide to release them. They just rot in jail sometimes with little kids. I also heard that sometimes they are not allowed to marry because of worry over inheritance. I just shudder to think what it would be like to be born a woman in Islam.
If this works, Islam would be a new caste named after Mohammed (perhaps) and the whole quarrel can be put to an end. India and Pakistan can save a huge amount of money and spend it on human welfare. This would benefit Pakistan more because if it loses to Taliban or ISIS , it will be a catastrophe. Pakistan is already a failing state. It will surely be chaos with atomic weapons in IS’s hands.
We do not need salvation after death. We need prosperity in this life. You can reserve thought on afterlife to the weekends if you must think of religious things. This is the age of democracy and peoples’ well being. Sensible people do not blow themselves up for unprovable reasons.

"Why this whining here?" Saroja bint Parrot

The only people whining here are your friend the CAIR pracharak and you. The rest of us are delighted by the reception that Modi got both from the Indian-American community and the US government.

Before the elections, there were claims from sickos that the "international community" would shun Modi and India because of the Gujarat 2002 riots. Every other day, sicko reporters would ask US spokespersons whether the US had changed its visa denial policy for Modi, and when the US people said there was no change in the policy, sickos would go into orgasms of delight. Now Modi is PM, he visits the US, and everyone from Obama to Kerry and Senator Chuck Schumer shows up to welcome him. We sanghis are very happy, thank you.

The only sad people are these Coalition against Genocide clowns who are now desperately claiming that Modi is responsible for ill-treatment of Sikhs (!), and people like you and the CAIR pracharak who quote from stupid articles that claim the riots "cast a shadow on the visit" (what shadow?) or about how Obama only said "welcome" and not "a warm welcome" or some such nonsense.

This is another antimale article with 'feminist victimhood' pasted all over it. The antimale authoress is so full of spew, that one wonder where she gets her words from!

"grizzled patriarchs" - is there a feminit equivalent for this term?

"woman actor " - the latest feminit terminology for term 'actress'?

"misogynists" - are actually not the ones who oppose dressing styles of feminits. These opposers are 'cultural defenders'. Only anti-males cannot see the difference. The worthless Ms. Gopal is making a spectacle of herself by barking up the wrong tree and blaming misogynists.

The media, particularly the 'intellectual' Outlook, seems to get infinite numbers of feminits from the gutter. And no doubt, should spawn a breed of defenders of the male gender.
