An original he was and his instrument & music will always be there to prove.  A genius he was and his offerings at a tender young age are there to prove.

And all the creations, kalpanaswaras, alapanas etc. the world would have been able to enjoy if only he lasted as long as any human being normally did....

But then he was not a normal one, and it is such a pity that God takes back the good ones so young....

"China values Nehru's contribution immensely and fondly remembers the relationship between Nehru and first Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai"

Of course. How many times Enlai stabbed Nehru in the back and how many times Nehru became ecstatic at the stabbing!!

One just has to read what Enlai told Nehru in 1954 about maps and what he said about the same thing in 1959. Any other sane man would have woken up. But not Nehru. He was in bliss supreme.

This incident marks the beginning of the end of Trinamul Congress regime in West Bengal.

Unfortunately this issue has not received adequate media coverage elsewhere, although it has far reaching implications for the democratic minded people anywhere in India. If an Acting Vice Chancellor instead of meeting agitating students to discuss the rationale of their demand decides to call in police inside the University campus to beat them up  and clear the student cordon, he deserves no right to continue with his job. He is incompetent, insensitive to students. Period. He should ask all the other previous vice chancellors how they could resolve student agitations without seeking police intervention. Others argue that since this VC has no prior attachment to this university as either a student or as an academic, he has no affinity or cultural sensitivity to this university's student-teacher-alumnus fraternity. This is what you expect when party loyalists are appointed in key roles in academic institutions without reviewing their competence and compatibility.

The police commissioner sides with the cops, denies any police brutality, blames the students, armed outsiders and the Maoists ( all Mamata dissenters are labelled Maoists in West Bengal) forthe incident, while the media footage clearly shows police beating up the students and several injured students are still in hospital. Instead of aplogizing or swiftly replacing the VC the government and the administration is still foolishly and arrogantly siding with the VC to the anger of the civil society.

When the demand from the students for a fair investigation of alleged sexual harrassment by a committee consisting of competent independent experts is met with violence and the action receives support from the regime, their end is near. An arrogant and unapologetic CPM after the Nandigram bruatilities lost its popular political support. Trinamul leadership seems to be following CPM's footsteps.

Neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor President Xi Jinping made a passing reference to Panchsheel. Narendra Modi’s emphasis on “Trust” before “Respect” during the interaction with Xi Jinping has set the tone for a post-Nehruvian revamp of India’s China Policy." .... Post-Nehruvian revamp of India's China Policy ? ... You must be joking ! I thought '..."Trust" before "Respect"..' stands for an Euphemism for Panchseel here. ... At least Nehru had the honesty in his last years to admit that he was utterly naïve in his China policy and had India the military power, India would have liberated Tibet, and that China is claiming territory on historical basis which never belonged China for the last ten thousand years !

The history in NCERT text boooks is of course fabricated .  Did you read about the genocidal rule of Muslims in S Asia, exterminating and wiping out Hindus over vast areas ? Did you read about Sikandar Butshikan and his massacre of Hindus for just being Hindus ?   Did you read about ritual massacre of Hindus by Bahmani suktans ?   Ofcourse these muslim rulers represent the just a few in the galaxy of islam inspired genocide of Hindus.  How do  we know it was inspired by Islam ?  Well the perpetrators themselves told us that what they did was inspired by Koran and its verses on killing koranic infidels.

Non Muslims need to corrrect this.

If one is to believe that the reverses of BJP in assembly polls have little impact over  the observations of Modi acknowledging the patriotic credentials of the minorities, RSS leaders like Adityanath may be in for a shock.  That Modi does not risk losing the dividends earned enormously in LS polls is a fine display of his political wisdom which is bound to curtail the cacophony of Hindu fundamentalists.. It is more likely that the PM may have a re-look at his earlier stance of dissociating from taking part in Iftar parties.

In 2002,  Modi found the Muslim  citizens  of Gujarat  NOT WORTH LIVING,  but worth DYING  for the prosperity and security of the country.   Maya Kodnani and  Bajrangi  were , among others, the ones who danced to the tune of desperate alarming  mass cries of Muslim women  and their children  when they were thrown ALIVE  into the burning pyre.  Modi succeeded to reduce the number of Muslims in Gujarat, who  would  dance to the tune of  AL QAEDA  leaders, not a minor achievement.  Long live  "I MY  ME"  !!!

Subedar Ishrat Ali of 3 Rajputana Rifles has written letters to the President and National Commission for Minorities alleging that his commanding officer has served him a notice to him for using the salutation of Jai Hind in the unit instead of using "Ram, Ram" and "Jai Mata Di" — the official battalion slogans.

In his letter, also marked to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Ali has also reportedly termed his unit's salutations of 'Ram Ram' and "Jai Mata Ki' as Hindu religious chants and said that it was impossible for him to use them as he was a Muslim priest """

Regiments of the Indian Army, depending on their character, have their own mandirs, masjids, gurudwaras or churches. They have regimental maulvis, pandits, granthis, and priests. The Commanding Officer participates in all religious festivals. On Eid he will happily wear a topi. On other occasions a tikka or a pagri.
An article in Daily Bhaskar.com (16/9) says: “(The) Army is the only place where you can see a maulvi conducting the proceedings of Janmashtami as Panditji was on leave.”
Also, you will never come across a Commanding Officer taunting a minority. They don’t refer to Muslims as Mian Musharraf or compare them, even allegorically, to a kutte ka bachcha. Modi-speak would be an anathema.
The truth is you can serve in the Army for years without being conscious of the religion of your colleagues. It simply doesn’t matter except in their private lives.
During the 1965 war the 3rd Rajputana Rifles fought Pakistani soldiers on the Line of Control.
Twenty-five percent were Muslim. Their CO was Christian. Muslims have risen to be Army Commanders, the critical post below Army Chief. At least two have commanded 15th Corp, a bastion of our defence in Kashmir. Many others have served as Lieutenant-Generals and Major-Generals.
Many Muslim soldiers are a part of the Army’s roll-call of honour. Hawaldar Abdul Hameed won the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for gallantry, in 1965. Brig Mohammad Usman posthumously won the Maha Vir Chakra in 1947. Lt. Col. Salim Caleb in 1965.

Sad. One of the few times I completely disagree with you. Men in uniform sacrifice a lot for our safety, and we owe them our gratitude. Calling them names belittles us much more than it belittles them.

Moreover, muslims should not be required to say 'Ram-Ram' or 'Jai Mata Di'. In fact, even hindus should not be required to say that. I can understand the need for a code in an army unit. However, that code should not require someone to abjure their faith.

Saroja , is immaterial to the debate except for being an example of imbeciles  that non-muslims in India have to deal with  to correct the historical falsifications  perpetrated by those who conducted the genocide of Hindus in vast areas of S Asia.  Past history of 1400 years , and not just in S Asia,  is reliable guide to what there conduct would be in any area of India where they would get to even 40% of the population.

"These actresses do films to show their bodies, pretty faces, clothes or acting talent ? And when paparazzi catch them they suddenly become virtuous"
gayatri, madrid, Spain
Such a lame argument!

People have sex with their girlfriends wife. Does that mean ToI has a pass on showing it everyone else.

Hay if actresses show their bodies, who stops ToI guys/girls to do the same?

I would love them to show me what they see in their home!

"You don't need to figure out what 'Hindukush' means to know." Suchbolo

Perhaps, but we need to fight back against this nonsense that "Hindukush = killer of Hindus," like everything else from our terrible history, is an RSS fabrication.

Whether or not ibn Batuta fabricated or plagiarized parts of his manuscript (or even whether or not there was someone named ibn Batuta), the fact remains that we have a document from the 1300's written by a Muslim for the edification of other Muslims in which it states unambiguously that "Hindukush = killer of Hindus."

Now it is possible that whoever wrote this back in the 1300's was mistaken - perhaps Hindukush really meant "land where Hindus are given jalebis every morning by the faithful" and the author just got it wrong. If so, a case for this needs to be made on the basis of other facts that can also be debated. Instead, we get this familiar sickular smoke and mirrors:

1) There is no such quote - it is a Sanghi fabrication.

This is a lie. There is precisely such an assertion in ibn Batuta's manuscript, and my five minutes of research on the web produced the translation that I linked to above.

2) Batuta plagiarized his document from other sources.

Irrelevant. Someone in the 1300's wrote down the statement "Hindukush = killer of Hindus", and whether it was Batuta or Batora or Paratha, the fact remains that in an important manuscript from that time, it states "Hindu Kush = killer of Hindus" and that statement was unchallenged by anyone until recently when Muslims and their sicko sahelis like bint Parrot started their revisionism. And even today, the Ency. Iranica, which is a serious scholarly encyclopedia written by Iranian Muslims and scholars of Iranian culture in the West, gives this etymology.

3) Whoever wrote this just lied about it.

Then the sicko brigade needs to produce some evidence that this is a lie. Simply asserting it is a lie is not enough - where is the evidence for this? Asserting that there are alternative etymologies like "Hindu Koh" where Koh means mountain is precisely like what the good P.N.Oak used to do - he would deduce all kinds of nonsensical facts from fantastic puns about "Tejo Mahalaya" etc. This "Hindu Koh" stuff is exactly sickular P.N.Oak - there is *no* evidence for it other than a coincidence of pronunciation, while there *is* evidence for the "Hindu killer" etymology in a 700 year old document written by a Muslim historian.

At the end of day, Suchch Bolo is right - the etymology of "Hindu Kush" is a minor, if poignant, thing for Hindus. What disgusts me are the depths of fabrication and denial that these hybristophilic Hindu women will go to to whitewash these vast crimes committed by their pet community. It is a matter of record that an amazing number of sick American women throw themselves at horrific mass murders like Charles Manson, O.J.Simpson, Ted Bundy and Dzhokar Tsarnaev even after they have been convicted for their crimes. The pathology among Hindu women sickos is just as disturbing.

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/in-excess/201310/passion-victim

"..These women are usually delusional and will try to find excuses for what the criminal did. They will develop relationships with a criminal and feel that they are special—that even though their lover may have killed numerous people, he would never harm her. They usually feel that they can “change” their lover and have rescue fantasies.”

Go back and read bint Parrot's postings over the years and you will find every one of this list of symptoms, right down to the need to feel special and her rescue fantasies (her role in some damn riot in Mumbai).

Re: # 122. Since link is not accessible, here is part of the TOI article:

CHANDIGARH: Made famous by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the salutation "Jai Hind" was coined by Major Abid Hasan Zafrani of the Azad Hind Fauj. Two decades after Zafrani's death, a Muslim priest of the Indian Army has approached the President of India, the National Commission of Minorities and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav alleging that his superior officers have censured him for using the slogan because it "sends a message of religious hatred and extremism".

Subedar Ishrat Ali alleges his commanding officer has served him a notice warning him to "rise above narrowmindedness", and instead salute by using "Ram, Ram" and "Jai Mata Di" — the official battalion slogans — or face "disciplinary action". Ali told ET from Bikaner that he has protested and written to his superior officers.

He has informed them that it is impossible for him to use the said salutes as they are Hindu religious chants and he is an Islamic priest. On his behalf, his wife Shehnaz Bano has written to the President of India and the National Commission for Minorities, Delhi, with a copy to the Uttar Pradesh chief minister complaining of "mental torture and harassment" and demanding justice.

Ali's commanding officer Colonel Chitra Sen refused to comment on the issue and said Army HQ had all the relevant information. "Army is absolutely secular. We respect salutation of Jai Hind and all battle cries," said Major General Shokin Chauhan, additional director general, public information, without getting into the details of Subedar Ali's complaints.

When making Indian Army salute, don't say "Jai Hind". Say "Ram, Ram" or "Jai Mata Di".

These madrrasahs are the root cause, if not the only cause, for the unemployment of muslims and their poverty. Unusual, the educated muslims support them even though they know it very well these madraasah educated young men has no chance of getting real jobs in the modern world. These educated lots, due to the infinite obsession with their religion, still supports these prehistoric ideas. They do infinite harm to their community.

Muslims go to madrassahs because they need education in their religion which the secular system does not provide. But if other children can survive without a daily dose of religion, why on earth muslim children cannot?  These regular visits did not make the muslims very pious and dishonest citizens as the crime statistics show. Your take, Anwaar.

Suchbolo,

>> " history must be taught as it happened"

History as per Hindutva hatepracharaks like yourself is devised to flame the fires of division and enmity. You want India to be a battleground for communal strife for the next century. You may be a sicko but you want the entire country to be sick!

Meanwhile , Total population of Jammu and Kashmir is about 10 million and it's Muslim population is about 6.6 million.

Total muslim population of India, is about 180 million. So Kashmiri muslims make about 3.5% of Indian muslim population and their inclusion or exclusion in Indian population census estimates , do not materially alter what percentage of muslims make Indian population.

So the 1951 census is valid reference , irrespective of  how much of Indian Jammu and Kashmir population was included or excluded.

"wikipedia : Hindus comprises 30.6 crore(85%) and Muslims were 4 crore(9%) in 1951 census."

"By 2011, it is estimated that Muslims are 17.7 crore (or 14.6% of India's population)."

That most likely underestimates them as it does not count the illigal muslim inflitrators from Bangladesh.
