Akhilesh Yadav is nothing but a modernised version of his father (Maulana, Mark-II, May 7). He is fooling around in Uttar Pradesh, and is neither good for the minorities nor for the majority. If Bihar could kick out Laloo Prasad Yadav, god knows why UP has to elect Mulayam Singh Yadav and his sons and brothers.

Unless Muslims get reservations in jobs as recommended by the Ranganath Mishra Commission, all other measures will be mere lollipops.
Anwar, Tonk
Pro-Muslim policies are good neither for Muslims nor for the country. What is needed is eradication of discrimination in jobs and housing, and uniform distribution of quality schools, hospitals and municipal services.
Anwaar, Dallas
Why can’t Akhilesh get more funds to open three more central universities on the lines of amu, with 50 per cent reservations for Muslims? They need more Muslims who can take on the challenges of modern life and help people from their community. People like Akhilesh, despite all their modern education, will remain petty-minded when it comes to people’s welfare.
Navien K. Batta, Muscat
Maulana Mulayam at least has a ring to it. Maulana Akhilesh? Naah, just doesn’t work.
Santosh Gairola, Hsinchu, Taiwan
Either India can remain SECULAR or "GIVE RESERVATION to MUSLIMS". Reservation on religious lines would be the "biginig of the end of India".
As already stated earlier in my comment ------------------"Anyone who WAS above 18 years of age in 1947 and THUS ATTAINED LEGAL ADULTHOOD in 1947 to take own decision, would be 82 years in 2012. So everyone below 82 years of age are India in 2012 because of DECISION TAKEN by someone else in 1947. All such "unhappy people" who are in India due to decision taken by anyone else, have the option to make "OWN decision NOW" and MIGRATE TO ANY PART OF THE WORLD TO BECOME HAPPIER."
Unless muslims get reservation in jobs all other measures are loly pops .Once reservation given to muslims it will solve all the problems of drop outs cmmunal clashes and so on.If any Govt is really interested in muslim welfare it must ensure at least 10% reservation to muslims in jobs as recommended by Ranga Nath Mishra commission.
Muslim in India have been exploited by Congress since indipendence to get votes as they converted them into a "vote bank".They made tall promises which were never fulfilled.Congress never tried to do anything to improve their social standard like education and health. They were never guided and encourraged them to do something on their own to improve their lives.Congress had a very selfish, shrude and calculated attitude as it wanted the Muslims to remain whereever they are so that the same chain of promises can restart during the next election. It also created a rift between Hidus and Muslims as the former feels the government is biased against the later. At last Muslims have understood it as they have rejected Congress and choosen for SP but I feel that SP will also do the same thing what Congress has been doing so far.
Akhilesh Ullah Yadav is just fooling around people in UP and is just a modernised version of his dad Mulayam Ullah Yadav neither good for majority nor for minority and also not good for the nation as a whole they are democratised version of Taliban and bajrang dal type of parties.I don't why UP opted for Mulayam Ullah sons and brothers pvt. ltd. when Lalloo Yadav the kidnapper got kick on his back in Bihar twice.
>> Appoints Babri committee convenor and AIMPLB adviser Zafaryab Jilani as addl A-G
Now SIMI can have its representatives in the govt
Trust that hosted AIMPLB convention is SIMI front: Centre
>>>>>>Muslims have been in the receiving end in all sorts of Govts-------------------------------------- As a result the police, intelligence and sometimes judiciary are causing atrocities on Muslims.<<<<<<
Similar sentiments were expressed from 1936 onwards culminating in partition of India in 1947. Pakistan was carved for people with this type of "communal attitude". Anyone who would have been above 18 years of age in 1947 and legaly adult to take own decision, would be 82 years in 2012. Everyone below 82 years of age and unhappy in India have the option to take a decision again.
The Samajwadi Party has undoutedly secured mammoth support from Muslim community in the assembly elections and hence it is only fair for Akhilesh Yadav to try and fulfil the promises made to them. However, in the process, he must not be seen as if trying to please only one community as it may lead to a backlash from non-Muslim classes which would be affecting his party's prospect in the upcoming parliament elections in 2014. For a chief minister, all classes, castes or sections are equal and should be treated by him fairly and accordingly. Akhilesh must also accelerate his productive functions since till date only mass transfers of officers have been effected in the state while the lawlessness continues unabated.
>> Pro-Muslim policies are not good either for Muslims or for the country.
But apparently, they are good for the sickulars.
On a lighter note: "Mullah Mulayam" had a poetic tone to it. "Mullah Akhilesh" ..... unh hn ...... nah, doesn't ring.
Muslims have been in the receiving end in all sorts of Govts as they are dispensable and RSS is everywhere. They are in Congress too and someone like Sonia Gandhi with no deep knowledge of Indian history and culture will never know till they are trounced and wiped totally.
Regional parties like DMK and SP as well as others are the only hope for survival for Muslims. As far as RSS goes Muslims are dispensable and should be annihalted in India.Media largely ontrolled by them plays a diabolical and wicked campaign. As a result the police, intelligence and sometimes judiciary are causing atrocities on Muslims.
Akhilesh brings lot of sanity in a state known for its insanity. He must know that public patience is waning, and government's honeymoons are getting shorter.
>> Tenders a public apology during poll campaign for hobnobbing with Kalyan Singh
I doubt if it was the cause of his defeat in the first place. It was SP's goondaraj that did them in. But, with Muslims of UP, anything goes!!
>> Promises release of Muslim youth falsely implicated and jailed as terrorists
Good step, provided the real terrorists are not released. Follow it up with thorough rampage of the policemen who hounded them without proof. Let these policemen have a first-hand feeling of terrorism torture.
>> Announces Rs 30,000 ex gratia for every Muslim girl (irrespective of income level) passing Std X and enrolling in Std XI
Why only Muslim girls? Sickularism?? People need schools. They can manage the rest. Anyway, it is a wasteful bounty. The beneficiaries will receive only a fraction of the doles.
>> Appoints a meritorious Muslim IAS officer as chief secretary.
Why? Because of merit or for his religion?
>> Appoints Babri committee convenor and AIMPLB adviser Zafaryab Jilani as addl A-G Nominates Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari’s son-in-law Umar Ali Khan to Legislative Council after he loses assembly election
Speechless!!
What happened to all that hulla-gulla over 18% Muslim reservations?
Pro-Muslim policies are not good either for Muslims or for the country. What is needed is eradication of discrimination in jobs and housing, and uniform distribution throughout different localities of services such as quality schools, hospitals and municipal services.
Act of terrorism is a very serious offence and it is scary that Akhilesh Yadav is trying to get some arrested Muslims released who have been apprehended for terrorism to get some Muslim votes?Who will decide that they have been falsely implicated and are innocent? What happens to the morale of the police who are fighting a grim battle against terrorism? Will Akhilesh Yadav is going to take moral resposibility if incidence of terrorism increases in UP?A better approach will be that he should convert into Islam and in that case he will not have any difficulty to get Muslim votes.
None of the steps will take the Muslims forward. Why cant he get more funds to open 3 more central universities on the lines of AMU with a 50% reservations for the muslims. Muslims need more muslims who can take on the challanges of modern life and help people from their own communities. People like Yadav despite all their modern eductaion will remain petty minded when it comes to creation of real development for the people.
When Gandhiji was traveling in Noakhali told Nirmal Kumar Bose that he woo too much to Muslims that one is my great mistake.Same drama now playing by Mulayam sing . Is Mulayam Want another partisan in India.?Our all political parties do anything for getting votes.I donot say political parties not give attendant the real problems of Muslims. I suggest treat equally both Hindu and Muslims in giving concession
“Although Medical Science has succeeded in restoring the “Ruptured Hymn” it has yet to invent the process of “Undoing Circumcisions” to perform on “Mulla-yam’s Son”.”
He means well and is playing a good game, but care and forethought is needed to make sure that politics does not come before justice! People are not stupid, but are willing to give Akhilesh a chance. Anything is better than the megalomaniac dictator of last year.
He should introduce UP's own version of 'communal voilence bill',which will help him to arrest only the majority community, the Hindus even when they are getting butchered. He can also form a special police force comprising of only Muslims. One should not forget that Pakistan was created by UP Muslims of that period. In Kerala, Muslim majority district of Malappuram was created by CPM,which is today the springboard for terrorist activities in western India.Akhilesh can easily form a dozen Muslim majority districts.
