Movie Review COMMENTS
Like a spicy mirchi bajji. It sticks to the time-tested Telugu formula of a mass entertainer

Having  watched a number of  thought-provoking Malayalam movies  in Trivandrum  (with Mohan Lal as my favourite actor ) for quite some time, I feel  annoyed and let down by the present crop of Telugu cinemas.  For the contemporary Telugu cinemas are 101% MASALA STUFF ! They are based on the tried and tested movie  formulae  invoving (i) RIDICULOUS FIGHTS where-in the Hero bashes up dozens and dozens of baddies  and  blasts scores of cars (ii) DUETS picturised in foreign locations (iii)  DIALOGUES or rather PUNCH LINES, which are truly  laughable, (iv) MERCINARY FEMALE MODELLS  imported from MUMBAI/DELHI,  who are willing to go to any length in exposing their fair skin, as long as they are paid their undeserving moola, but are unwilling to learn even one word of Telugu ( v) PROMOS conducted on lavish scales etc.

Telugu cinema had its  periods of zenith  in the past.  There used to be a sensible and socially relevant story lines, good actions by the Hero and Heroine and above all  good literature and haunting and melodious  songs. Wonderful movies had come from directors such as  B.N.Reddy ( Malleeswari, Bangaaru Paapa ) K.V.Reddy  ( Maya Bazaar ) , L.V.Prasad ( Ilavelpu, Illarikam ), Bapu ( Saakshi ), to cite only a few. All that is gone !

Now the "Story Line" , dialogues and situations in contemporary Telugu fims are nausiatingly predictable . The only consolation is that of late, some  Non-Telugu Directors like Gautam Menon began directing Telugu films.  For instance, Gautam Menon's  " Yem Maaya Chesaave " is a neat, clean and enjoyable love story of a Hindu boy falling in love with a Christian girl. Keep it up Gautam Maashe !
