Pakistan –India relationship is a complex issue. Adding to the complexities is the Kashmir angle. Therefore, a solution becomes all the more difficult. Unfortunately, leaders of various factions in the Kashmir valley have been blinded by anti- India campaign undertaken by the Pakistani establishment and hence they are in no mood to accept the reality that Indian government has made honest efforts to protect identity of the people of Kashmir. People of Kashmir may have some genuine grievances which need to be addressed to. But it is in the interest of all to accept that interests of people of Kashmir are best served by democratic India than by a crumbling and unstable state of Pakistan.

Can Raman explain why we need Indo-Pak relations to begin with?
