D.L.Narayan,

>> "We do not reject the Manu smriti."

Yesterday you had said, "Manusmriti has not been disowned, it has simply been rejected." (Sept. 1. # 12/40).

D.L.Narayan,

>>>> "Mass conversions, and the stark contrast of customs like sati and untouchability when compared with Islam and Christianity, were enough to shake up a complacent culture."

>> "Hinduism was never complacent. An open, non-coercive culture ensured that fresh ideas were being postulated all the time."

There is no proof for what you are saying but you can continue believing in it if it pleases you.

D.L.Narayan,

>> "Buddhism is not radically different from Hinduism. Buddha is an avatar of Vishnu and Hindus worship him."

You guys started saying that once Buddhism was no longer a threat to Hinduism!  By the way, Buddhists do not consider Buddha to be an avatar of Visnu. Buddha himself denied that he was a god or an incarnation of a god. Buddha's teachings deny the authority of the Vedas. Read this:

Resentment by teachers and parents?  Doesn't that constitute a very good news for Chavan and Congress for the up coming election?

Sushma says her Nepal visit was very successfu. Modi says his Japan visit was very successful. Apart from self-advertisement, why don't they tell us that the India-Japan nuclear deal failed to materialize?

Any wanton taking of a human life should be condemned, but making a gruesome spectacle of it takes it to the next level of inhumanity. Rest assured the United States will hunt down the killer(s), whatever and however long it takes.

An international massive military intervention on the lines of the Normandy attack is necessary to eradicate this abomination called ISIS.

But, but, but......writer after writer in this rag reassures that there is nothing to fear from the "Religion of Peace and Brotherhood" and that it is communal to think otherwise. Hope Vinod Metha doesn't bang his head in despair at this news

But Naqvi darling, rabid Muslims going after non-Muslim girls is a problem in every country. Just now a bunch of Muslims have been caught in the UK that tormented, terroriized and abused 1400 white girls. Sorry darling some things you just can't wish away
