Our Town

Apropos T.J.S. George’s Bangalore Diary (Mar 26), it’d be nice if both old and new Bangaloreans take time out and work for the city. All our lakes have been encroached upon, and after thousands of trees were cut down, few new ones have been planted.

Whodunit Solved

T.J.S. George is right, Bangalore is dying (Bangalore Diary, Mar 26). It’s being killed by politicians, real estate mafiosi and corrupt government servants.

George Saare... Greetings.  Remember me  ?.... G.N.Rao from  CDS , Trivandrum.... It  is always a pleasure to read your nice pieces. I do hope that hereafter we  can read yours more often in Outlook. Kindly oblige.

Kannadigas and Telugus have not only a great similarity in  their scripts but also in the "U" factor.  Like in Kannada, 'U' is  a great "Enabling Letter' in Telugu language as well . Telugus also add 'U'  to words originating from any language and convert it into a Telugu word like.....   "Road---Roddu";  "Chair---Chairu";  "Table---Tebulu"; "Egg--Eggu";  "Boys---Boysu";  "School---"Schoolu";  "Bus---Bassu"; "Collector--Collectoru"; "Hospital--Hospitalu"etc

So typically when a  non-Convent educated  Telugu person  tries to speak in English, this "U" facotor  invariably makes him get "Caughtu" !

one  point is today in city for all the trees that are being cut no new trees are being planted...

all our lakes have been enchroached upon and only a few remain ......and ones that remain are really bad state .....

It will be nice if old bangloreans and new bangloreans take time out and work for the city and just not use the city to the maximum ,but give nothing in return to the city we love ...
