We the Sufferers

Speaking from personal experience, I have to agree with the view that management education has no relevance in our real, contemporary ‘man-eat-man’ world (Course Correction, Sep 27). With a post-graduate diploma in management from a Delhi-based institute and no placement in sight, I am in a fix now. I really feel the education ministry must monitor the growth and mushrooming of such institutes.

Apropos of your ‘8 Must-Read Books for mbas’ in the B-Drive series, why is there nothing on operations? It’s not the first time that Production and Operations Management has been shortchanged, so no issues. Still it will be blasphemous to ignore The Goal by Dr Eliyahu Goldratt.

Dr Jitendra Sharma, IMT Nagpur
