This is not organised, authorised, targeted tapping, but more a fishing expedition. The article seems to have been planted by some disgruntled ntro elements with the sole motive of fixing their opponents (Who’ll Monitor the Monitor?). This is organisational politics Outlook has got into irresponsibly and sensationalised.

Giving an mnc a contract in return for a job or scholarship for one’s ward is very common in India. Investigate top officials of almost any government body and you would find this in at least half of the cases.

He and Sonia will use personal information to blackmail others. These guys openly humiliated Jaya Bachchan and AMitabh simply because they crossed Sonia. So anyone who opposes Sonia will be put under surveillance and any evidence they get will be used to blackmail those guys. That is the nature of the UPA govt.
