Scams in India, are another name for 'joke'.

NOTHING, seemingly can be done to cure this pandemic, since everyone ( the judiciary, police and even the media ), get a share of the pie too.

While Kodas scam has got 'caught' ( we know he will never actually be sentenced to jail though ), minister Raja who got away with a cool 4k-50k C scam, will never be caught. Why this partiality? Todays Congress has too many friends in the media, it seems!

TN politicians are legends of corruption. While MGRs money, even divided among his former ministers, is itself a fortune, Karunanidhis nephew is currently the richest man south of the Vindhyas.

The media is too engrossed in spreading anti-male hatred and the Congress chief is busy with anit-male politics, while the judiciary and police are morally and ethically bankrupt.

The politicians meanwhile, are SPIRITING the money ( through hawala, etc. ), ABROAD - into safe havens in the west, Swiss accounts, Dubai, etc.

Through these, we INDIANS are the biggest losers. Not only has our system been corrupted institutionally, but OUR MONEY is finding its way away from our shores!

Corruption is modern day slavery, since the money we make is finding its way outside the nation.

Is there really a wide-spectrum "antibiotic" that can cure this ill - which has become entrenched in our "system" so deeply and widely?

I believe the problem is widespread as no one even cares about a small scam, People are more concerned about stacking money for their loved ones that they dont even care what path are we going on to create this ill earned wealth.

Only poor at loss as if you are from a well off family and dont have a conscience then there are thousands of ways this nation will provide you to generate wealth by corrupt means.

We as a nation are not creating any wealth as wealth is created by genuine competition but in India the term " what can you bring to the table " has a totally different meaning.

Sad part is not many people even the young generation wants to do the right thing if some how they can get the job done in lesser time by doing the wrong thing they wont think twice to do it.

Values, integrity, conscience, honesty are considered synonyms for being a dub ass.

Truth is its almost impossible in India to run a business without catering to illegal demands and somewhere along the way we all fall prey to this menace.

The day common man in India stopped stooping so low to these politicians and starts asking questions about policies and performance rather than caste and religion may be that day we take a U turn towards a better society.

"Who cares anymore for a hundred crore scam?"

Definitely not magazines like Outlook. Otherwise, the Spectrum scam would have received a much better coverage.

As such, Koda is being pilloried because he is not a Congress man. While Raja's is being shielded because he is close to Manmohan Singh. So much for the concern about corruption.

Since I am against the death penalty, I propose that all scam artists be given mandatory life sentences without the possibility of parole. Public officials who fail to bring them to justice should themselves be considered parts of the scam. How to implement this policy? I leave such details for others to figure out.

You have to be born as a dalit. With this Master card, you can become the president, chief justice or union minister and , whatever you do will be condoned given the immunity, quoting that the dalits have suffered for 5000 years. So, Rajas and his ilk will get away and laugh their way through without shame. If you raise a finger against these privileged classes and castes, it will be branded as hegemony of the upper caste. As long as people can be lured and bought, there is no salvation. Look at the way Raja is going around with his upright nose !. This can happen only in this insensitive country.

Mr EAS Sarma has hit the nail on its head. The Congress party specializes in bribing its way thru to unlimited power and then encashing that power to make more money to bribe more people. All the so-called welfare programs for the Aam Aadmi like NREGA and scores of others are just bribes and opium to numb the people.Only after the NDA showed the way how to really empower people thru more infrastructure development and opportunities for small & micro enterprise that it was compelled to follow that path. But still its ingenious mind could not resist the temptation to generate more opportunities for the Congressis to make more black money. So the UPA thought up more and more of the same like expansion of the NREGA.The tragedy is that the voter has been always befooled by such tokenism. It does not demand any concrete results.
In today's Times of India Swaminathan Iyer has revealed his calculation as an economist of the opportunity lost by India because of delayed reforms. And this is 14.5 million people remaining poorer due to lack of opportunities in the socialistic regime.
Lalu kept Bihar's poor to remain in power for 15 years. The Left Front kept Bengali's poor for thirty five years. The stories of the gullibility of the Indian Voter are endless.

Now should CNS have the power in his b***s to put all these scamsters and Politcians on a ship for a cruz to Andaman and use one of his midget submarines to tarpedo half way down the Road. Now I learnt even the serving Lt. Generals are also involved in the land scams.
Then let the new breed of scamsters like Raj Thakaray rule the innocent and idiotic manoos who vote these people in the name of Democracy.

When politics has become money-entric, Coalition rule, party funds to face elections, licenseraj, campaigning or party meetings with enmasse partymen in innumerous vehicles, redtapism and bureaucracy being made to second fiddle politicians, financial / civil / criminal laws with multiple loopholes that are aptly and craftly explored to be applied by such professionals, unethical medical practice based only on commissions and tips, mindless freebies to people making them oblige the party that gives them by virtue of running Govt., lack of transparancy combined with unnecessary interferences of businessmen-politicians nexus to bend rules for financial advantages, etc., were the reason for the huge scams. Temporary memory of people of our country that is completely distracted by the raging media hype-cum-war between opponent media-groups has granted safe shelter to those who are responsible for all these scams. Bribe and Usuary has become order of the day. One has to recall famous tamil song with its meaning "Only if Thieves by themselves recourse to path of correction, Theft cannot be eliminated".

Mr. Subramaniam, there is something wrong with your eyes? You see only caste and not corruption. In the heirarchy of indian executive/admnistrative system the % of so called dalits and low castes is very miniscule. Most of the positions of any relevance or reckoning are still held by caste Hindus. If you are truly against caste based reservations, then there is only one way to end it. Kill the caste. Stop practising caste, throw away the string of cotton thread of casteism [as did publicly by the first CM of Kerala, Com. (late) EMS] and stike of caste name from all forms and certificates.

India is designated as a socialist country in its Preamble to the Constitution but the number and scale of scams after the liberalization of 1991 have a contrast picture. Will Indian politicians, bureaucrats and judges do their bit to make India socialist in the true sense of the term or pass an amendment to delete the term from the preamble.
