ICT , Mumbai is former UDCT , Mumbai which has been the backbone of producing some stalwarts like Prof MM Sharma FRS, Prof RA Mashelkar , Mukesh Ambani and many more. Many ICT undergraduates in Chemical Eng are in top notch institutes in the US and in India as Professors. Their admissions and marking of exams is as good as the IITs. They have produced a galaxy of entrepreuners to the chemical industry. Their research output is also excellent, esp the Chem Eng section. Infact the whole Indian textile and dyestuff industry was pioneered by this institute. . ICT , Mumbai is an unique institute. They have been the backbone of chemical industry professionals for India , particularly Western India. This whole ranking is based on wrong inputs.
Pathetic ranking by Outlook. Looks like most of the private deemed universities in TN and other states have paid Outlook a bomb to get their rankings a booster. How else could you see a great institution like JNTU ranked at 64?
Perhaps the magazine must present the basis of selection. How many colleges were approached ? How many provided the data? Whether the data was veerified?
@Somasundaram, TN tops the list with 14 colleges including 1 IIT and 1 NIT. What do you mean by 'handful'?
Where is Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai? It is ranked on par with PSG and only next to Anna University and NIT(Trichy) and well ahead of CIT, Amrita and other colleges. It is strange that it finds no mention when colleges like Satyabama have entered the list.
I want to know the ranking of KIIT, Bhubaneswar
When so many colleges are there in TN, only a handful finds a place in this list. Misserable. This shows the educative administration of TN.
The ranking I guess are true to the core........
