If the BJP is serious about fighting corruption there is no dearth of issues. Take the case of 'payments in US dollars to the family members of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, namely Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ms Paola Maino, mother of Sonia Gandhi'

Well... BJP has to answer this. Why are they protecting Sonia and her CON dynasty? There are credible reports that they also saved Rahul when he was arrested in Boston airport with $250,000 (violation of US custom laws and how the hell did he get 250000) in September 2001.

Undoutedly this issue of accounts in foreign banks is an diversionary move by the main political parties to obfusficate the real issues germane to Indian large scale social backwardsness. Advani was in power in for five years & one did not hear about this crusade of bringing back home the astrnomical funds nesting in Swiss Banks. Obviously his target is a particular family who may or may not have funds stashed in Swiss bankns. The problem is if at all this family has money abroad quantum the same must be nothing compared to the government order cut money , particularly from the holy cow of defence contracts, paid into foreign banks. Thats routine , be it NDA or UPA. And corporate funds stashed abroad via under/over invoicing& many other underhand devices.

No government will raise a finger to look hard into the fudal corporate oligarchs' spending abraod & source of the money they spend abroad.

And why this hue & cry about about Swiss funds which they know they cannot touch in any case? What about the parrallel black economy inside India itsef? That's where a governments has some clouts. Its taboo for both Congress or BJP, because they know how their party wheels are greased.

I am fully in agreement with Mr Puri and I believe that opposition raises trivial issues, overlooking matters of vital importance. But I would certainly point an accusing finger at media too: why the champions of the dynasty and its party do not make a big issue of such matters? Where is Mr Vinod Mehta?

Mr. Puri - You have written this article with no logic and no brains, sorry to say!! Should you be hanged for what your father did or you wife does, or for that matter your child does? I have personal experience of BJP politicians' corruption activities. Needless to say, you should be ashamed for this scribe!!!

"Is Sonia Above Questioning?"

Obviously. Saints are not to be questioned. When she is gracious enough to grant an interview, she is asked (By Shekhar Gupta) whether she misses pasta. You cannot go beyond that.

If Modi is found guilty and that actually helps BJP, that shows the kind of supporters that BJP has (and according to BJP, such people are the ‘real hindus’ and those which better moral sense are anti-hindus. That is what they reduced Hinduism to). Not something to be proud of. It is something to be ashamed of.
KUMAR

Yes, some Hindus have stooped to such a level that their icon is a 'maut ka saudagar (aka Modi)'. I have also seen some scums on this forum deriving viracious pleasure out of Gujarat genocide. In most Gujjus' minds, Modi is a hero that taught the Mussalmans a "lesson" in the form of Gujarat. Some elements are untiringly devoted on this forum singing paeans to Hinduism. Answer me, what good is Hinduism when you treat a fellow Hindu according to his 'varna' burn women as Sati and canonize someone who not so long ago has presided over mass murder of a minority?

That is what happens when religion is mixed with politics. The name of Ram is abused in obnoxious and uncivilized speeches and violent incitements, murders etc, but where are the true Ram devotees who are offended by that? That is what politics will do to religion.

>> Answer me, what good is Hinduism when you treat a fellow Hindu according to his 'varna' burn women as Sati ..

The beliefs about varna, sati etc are mostly discarded, so a contemporary discussion of Hinduism should go beyond these.

What is the difficulty in drawing our own conclusions on this matter, Mr.Puri? It is just like adding two plus two! Every politician to which ever party he/she belongs is a corrupt scoundrel, not only in India but throughout the world.

Where is the notion of sacrifice for the sake of the nation. With such criminal behaviour, our politicians make a mockery of the national flag and anthem when they so sanctimoniously preside over national day functions.

Kalavati,
You please recollect what catholics did to Galellio. This doesnt mean that sati should be still followed. However, we Hindu's are ready to take critics in the true sense and not look them as enemies of Hindu's. We embrace change. We dont disturb the social harmony of countries where we migrate.
