"giving the nation ample opportunity to ruminate on the vagaries of a brand of coalition politics that catapults unknown and untried politicians to the helm of important social sector ministries. "

Was it not the Boss of the three people who wrote this article, who wanted Sachin Pilot or someone similar to be the External Affairs minister? Then why the heck you worry about "untried and unknown" politicians? The reporters seem to disagree with the Editor.

BTW, Outlook found space for stupid stories on film personalities but not for TR Baalu!! But then I understand the dilemma. If one starts to write about the corrupt ministers of the UPA govt, there will be no space for anything else. You need a special edition with 300 pages.

And just curious. Did anyone "drop a word" to Mehta not to do stories on TR Baalu? Not that I doubt the integrity of Mehta but ...........one never knows. Who would have thought that Priyanka would spin a tale about meeting Nalini?

More on the story Outlook will NOT cover. If the corrupt party had been Amitabh, we would have had a special edition just for the issue.

# Moral policing by political parties is an age-old syndrome.

# Examples are: Mahatma Gandhi, Thackareys, Advanis, Karunanidhis, Lalu Yadavs, Gowdas, Rajkumars, Omar Sherifs, Sardars, and the likes in other parts of the world.

# It depends on what the moral policing all about and how they are enacted as laws.

# Public should be aware of what's good and not good for their life and sentiments.

# Anbu Mani Ramadoss should have known this while he was a kid, what his father and partymen did on Tamil Nadu roads (blocking roads by cut trees on Pantruti-Trichy roads) :-)

SACK SHARMILA TAGORE FROM CENSOR BOARD

Censor-board Chief Sharmila Tagore should be sacked from her post for her unfair criticism of Union Health Minister when Ambumani Ramadoss rightly raised issue of ‘drinking’ scenes in films because youngsters take popular film-artists shown consuming alcohol as their role-models. Only recently, a study-report indicates that average age to start drinking has come to much low. Drinking in the beginning does not taste good, but starts only as fashion sparked also from films, and later develops into addiction. According to media-reports, main anger of Sharmila Tagore is Ramadoss’s earlier remarks against Sharmila’s son Saif Ali Khan for promoting potato-chips. Sharmila’s advice to Union Health Minister in respect of fake drugs is justified but it should not be linked with Minister’s crusade against smoke and drink scenes in films.

Apart from unfair criticism of Ambumani Ramadoss, Sharmila Tagore is also responsible for failure of Censor-Board for passing highly objectionable portions in films like the lyric "Bazar mein machi hai maramar; bole mochi bhi khud ko sunhar" in the film ‘Aaja Nachle’. Members of Censor-Board generally pass films after accepting luxurious hospitality from film-producers without having gone through the films deeply.

"Anbumani has no agenda and there's nobody to tell him what to do,"

Manmohan can drop a word!! BTW, it shows the awesome leadership of Manmohan that he does not set the agenda.

'Anbumani has no agenda..'
That is good. What What is it that people with agenda are doing; except filling their own coffers?
Anbumani says that Actors should avoid smoking scenes in their films because their crazy youth fans may follow suit and spoil their health. What is wrong in that?

And I am pretty sure that Oulook would not run stories on the AIIMS issue. It was a direct blow to Swami Manmohananda but the Swamiji took it with poise. And Outlook will ignore it-just as they ignored the TR Baalu story.

"How can one say that is NOT an agenda?"

Anbumani's agenda is to make money. It is only mean people like you who call it corruption. How can a minister in Swami Manmohananda's ministry be corrupt? Is not Swamiji the epitome of honesty and integrity? He will not tolerate any bad behaviour from his ministers.

Anyone who disputes this is a Sanghi.

someone please make the honourable minister see sense fast! instead of doing something to plug loopholes and gaping fallacies in our health system , all that the minister seems concerned about is filmstars and their behaviour. the sc judgement vindicates the public , who all along the aiims farce , were wondering when our ministre lost his mental balance!

Anbumani is incompetent and corrupt to boot, so what! Isn’t he an Indian politician?

To whom does he owe for the favor of the write up? This is free publicity and, in a way, is a corrupt practice. The real beneficiary, please, stands up and be counted!

What a waste!

Anbu Mani being an educated politician in Medicine, he must concentrate his expertise in controlling many diseases such as AIDS, Cancer, Polio, Diabetes, etc.

He must unlike others actively propagate health policies to poor.

He can rather concentrate on demand and supply of health resources such as Doctors and Nurses in Government hospitals.

He should travel to all villages in India, visit all government hospitals, and meet patients to measure the exisiting government facilities and services instead of sending new medicos.

He can very well discuss with the pharma industry and bring out a policy in manufacturing cost-effective medicines that can be used for domestic consumption as well as export.

He can observe what and how're goverment medical colleges in grooming new medical talents. Mentor them from losing them for foreign countries.

Anbu Mani's plate full and his house has its own affair; this is high time he introspects instead of inspecting the public.
