Communalist,

[[No point in providing Data to the Moditards here. They are unaccustomed to facts.]]

On the other hand, Jihadi"turds" here understand facts better than anyone else. And the fact is that followers of the "religion of peace" can never live in peace with people of other faiths.

" Freedom of  Expression is suppose to offend others. If we are stopped from offending others, citing 'hurting their feelings' than the concept of FoE becomes useless."

Fully agree. Calling it blasphemous is semitising the Hindu tradition of openness.

Let us not forget that RGV asks questions out of ignorance, just like a child (let us give him the benefit of doubt and ignore the possibility of malice). I shall try, with my admittedly inadequate understanding of Hinduism, to answer those queries.

1. How can someone unable to save his own head, save others? - Even the best of soldiers can die on the battlefield. Does it detract from their ability to protect us?

Ganesh is an aspect of God and not the Supreme God. He will be always subservirnt to the will of the Almighty.

2. Remover of obstacles. Just as an elephant can overcome obstacles that are insurmountable to others, self belief gives us the power to overcome the hurdles we come across in our lives.

Lack of confidence is our biggest obstacle and by invoking Ganesha, we are able to awaken our latent strengths to handle the problems as they come.

3. Why the head of the elephant?

What is unique about the elephant head is its trunk, which is a combination of  is a gnyanendriya (sensory instrument) and a karmendriya (instrument of work). The trunk symbolises reason - recieve sensory input, process it and then act upon it.

The large ears represent winnows which separate chaff from the grain, the mind which analyses sensory inputs by intellect to separate truth from falsehood. Ganesha is the Lord of Buddhi or reasoning power.

4. Why does he ride a mouse?

A mouse represents the mind - capricious and wayward, seeking sensory pleasures. Ganesha controls the mind and uses it to go where the Buddhi tells it to go, not where it wants to go.

Hindu symbology is esoteric and loaded with meaning. Everything has a meaning which is not accessible to most. Nothing is what it appears to be.

Only those who don't have answers get offended by impertinent questions. Hinduism gives you the freedom to think, to understand and learn. If one is unable to appreciate certain aspects, one is free to question it or reject it.

Jesus had said, "Forgive them, Father, they know not what they are doing." Let us treat the RGVs of this world in a similar manner. Banning and coercion is against the spirit of our great religion.

The Tatas have been the biggest recipient of government largesse, and the UPAs decision to auction the building publicly, without 'rights of first refusal to Tatas', possibly caused friction with the Tatas and their subsequently backing Modi.

The Tata empire has been involved in too many scandals in India - starting from the Nano scandal in Gujarat, to being the prime beneficiary in the 2G scandal. It must be investigated.

Males have always been the biggest source of income for govrnments.

Even corrupt governments like Oomen Chandys ( which in malayalam mean rectum ), know that prohibition only further increases the price of liquor.

A government that genuinely cares for its men, must invest in deaddiction centers and rehabilitation centers - which we never hear off. Merely caving in to females and cutting off any pleasurable activity for a male, is misandry.

India has one of the LOWEST per capita consumption of alcohol in the world ( unlike what the antimale media depicts )

The poison of Goddism is sown by parents in childhood. This happens outside the glare of any publicity, but once sown, this evil germinates into full fledged religionism.

False beliefs are the curse of ANY society, and this holds true for goddism as well.

To tackle the evil of religionism, the media should understand and realise that the damage is done at a very young age - once the evil is brainwashed into vulnerable souls.

It is laughable that the so-called secularists are so hung on absolute numbers, where as any individual who has studied even 10th standard Math would know the uselessness of absolute numbers. There are a number of factors at play, and in this case, the most important factor is the percentage of Muslim (or Hindu) population. Without this, these numbers are meaningless except in the minds of sickulars who use this to propagandize falsehoods in order to maintain the fake facade of communal harmony.

Ganwaar, in the case of Hindu attackers and Muslim victims and vice versa, did you deliberately fail to adjust the numbers for the population percentage of Hindus and Muslims? Or is it that you don't understand how statistics work?

Assuming that the Muslim population is 15-30% of the total population of UP, the number of Muslim attacks on Hindu women is still disproportionately higher than vice versa.

Dishonesty in the cause of religion is a trait increasingly common even among "educated" Muslims.

The education system in India is going from bad to worse. This is going to reflect very badly in Indias future.

Not only are there less people willing to take to teaching, but there are more posts falling vacant. Once again, a damning failure of the government over the decades, to spend more on education rather than defence.

It is like a deteriorating law and order situation that increases rape, and the media then hyperreporting rape alone. This article too has a small agenda, and ignores the failure of the education system itself, and more importantly, the reasons for it.

Will the judicial reforms make justice faster or fairer? NO

Judicial reforms are cosmetic. A joke on the Indian people, by the lawyer class that controls Indian politics today. The system can only be as good as the people who man it.

Unless judges are made ACCOUNTABLE, the judiciary will remain suspect in the eyes of the public.

AT LEAST a third of the judges are corrupt. Unless these judges are seen in jail, the people will not regain the trust in the judicial system.

First of all, there is no concept of blasphemy in Hinduism. I am all for FOE - let Periyar garland Lord Ram with chappals even though I may not like it. But the problem arises when same bunch of hypocrites become 'oh so sensitive' about other religions but use Hinduism as a football to show their liberal views. When such things happen, Hindus will see to it that FOE goes outt of the window.

According to Learn and Return’s calculations, “[m]ore than 1000 [Jewish] girls a year are trapped in Arab villages,” lured in with “gifts and flattery” by “Arab men, often pretending to be Jewish.” (For a mere $1000 donation, you can sponsor the rescue of one girl.)

As evidence of the alarming trend, the site directs us to a 2012 “Knesset Report on the Welfare of the Child” - which in addition to not being an official report also happens not to corroborate the organisation’s claims.

Gandhi had another obsession- enemas! He would suggest enemas to any and everybody for any ailment. Kasturba had plenty before she died. He himself suffered acute appendicitis when he was in Yerwada prison. He treated himself with enemas and declined treatment till it was quite late. At last he had to accept surgery when it became unbearble and therefore inevitable. On his consent,  he was operated by a British district surgeon in those days of pre-antibiotics. It took a month or more before he recovered. It's a miracle that he survived the complications of late surgery. The biopsy reported pin worms in the appendix. I wonder what would have happened if he died of complications of the disease/surgery.

Reciprociry is the cornerstone of all relations. Thats the most effective tool we have to send a message to the other party. Only surrendered and defeated people or subjugated people cannot reciprocate.

Treat Muslims just as they treat non-muslims. India has to treat muslims in India just as muslims have treated Hindus in every muslim majority and ruled area from Pakistan to Bangladesh to Kashmir valley in India. If muslims can't change , why should Hindus in India share space with them after India has been divided in 1947 on the basis of religion and Hindus exterminated in muslim areas ?

India have treated muslims in India just as it wanted Hindus to be treated in Pakistan, Bangladesh. Did it work ? Hindus stand decimated by muslims in all muslim majority and ruled areas.  If you want to prevent a repeat partition of India and genocide of Hindus then eithet muslims of south asis change the ways they collectively operate or muslims should confine to Pakistan and Bangladesh  and move there.

Following the link in #46/D-105 (courtesy Saachbolo from whom I learnt also about the 'Jaichand' Joginder Mondal's crucial role behind the scene to the creation of Pakistan) one reads the nailing point of Jinnah's address to the East Bengali Muslims ... "But let me make it clear to you that the state language of Pakistan is going to be Urdu and no [255] other language. Anyone who tries to mislead [you] is merely the enemy of Pakistan."... This brings to the fore what sort of a Hindu hater at heart Jinnah was. Amazing, the Muslim Bengalis were in vast majority in Pakistan and he wanted to disenfranchise their language ! Of course this shows that he considered them as "converts" clinging to their original Hindu mother-tongue.... That hatred triggered the beginning of the end of "Jinnah's Pakistan" as history recorded the hateful saga. And no mention of the blood bath of Hindu Bengalis in Noakhali in the hands of Muslims to which the Indian State at that time capitulated as a coward.

If one wants to learn how to asphyxiate minorities, no need to read Mein Kampf. Just look across the border, at the land of the Pure.

"According to the European Organisation of Pakistani Minorities, events of violence against minorities in terms of target killing, sectarian killing, torching of holy books and temples, rape, murder, forced conversion, and abductions in the past six months have effected up to 150 Shias, 23 Hazaras, 45 Hindus, 21 Sikhs, 66 Christians, 22 Ahmadis and 13 others.

"Over 27 incidents of desecration of temples and holy books of religious minorities have occurred in the past six months. Around 5,000 Hindus migrate from Pakistan to India and other countries every year due to religious persecution. According to another report, an estimated 1,000 Christian and Hindu women are forced to convert and marry Muslim men every year."

An eye-opener for R Saroja:

According to a report from the Movement for Solidarity and Peace, about 1,000 non-Muslim girls are converted to Islam each year in Pakistan. Every month, an estimated 20 or more Hindu girls are abducted and converted, although exact figures are impossible to gather, said Amarnath Motumal, the vice chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP).

Some Muslim leaders consider it an honour to convert non-Muslim girls.

Muslim cleric Mian Abdul Malik - who leads the Bharchundi Sharif Shrine, famous for conversions of young Hindu girls - discounted the complaints of the Hindu community.

"There's no such thing as forced conversions in Islam and in Pakistan," he told Al Jazeera.

This year, Malik has converted two Hindu men and 15 Hindu women. Asked about this ratio, he said: "Hindu women come readily to us because after conversion we facilitate their marriages to Muslims."

Tariq Ramadan’s ‘Quest for Meaning’

Book review by Karen Armstrong

" Instead of blaming the other, we need to develop the critical ability to stand back and speak out against the abuses of “our” side, taking back full responsibility for our actions. We have to reacquaint ourselves with history, realising that there is no such thing as a “pure” personal or civilisational identity and that we have all been shaped by diverse influences......we should lay aside habitual modes of thought, abandon self-serving certainties, and realise how little we know about one another."
