In its 40th year, Ramesh Sippy's 1975 classic, Sholay, is finally getting a release in Pakistan. But strangely, the version that our neighbours will get to see, "while being the same as the one seen by millions in India, is still not going to be the version that was intended by Sippy".

The Central Board for film certification in India has released a list of Hindi and English words that it does not want used in any certification category.

A couple of days after the AIB Knockout roast went viral on the internet, a censor board member tweeted against the 'porn show on stage', and particularly Karan Johar, who was the roastmaster at the event.

An unfazed Johar took to Twitter to reply to Pandit.

A lot of voices came out both in support of and against his statement and the show itself.

Pandit later defended his tweets against Johar, saying he was only reacting to the way in which the filmmaker and the other brilliant actors used such kind of language which should not be spoken at a public show.

"They can't use the language in public that is not decent in any form," he said, adding, "the entire show was abnormal".

"I have reacted because I am a Karan Johar fan, Ranveer Singh fan, Arjun Kapoor man....I have very right to do that. And if they feel about my tweet if they are hurt about my tweet, they can consider it as an extension of their roast," he said in Jaipur.

As of now, the event and the stars awaits probe by Maharashtra government on 'appropriate clearences'.

The 18-day protests over controversial Tamil novel, Madhorubhagan, on Monday ended with its author Perumal Murugan tendering an unconditional apology for “hurting the sentiments of the people of Tiruchengode”. He also decided to withdraw all his novels, short stories, essays and poems published so far. He said he would compensate the publishers. He told Express that he made the decision fearing protests in the future against his published work.

The Hindu has a report saying that Murugan has decided to give up writing altogether.
