For those who came in late, the backgound:

Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust, an NGO run by law minister Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise Khurshid, has been at the centre of many allegations of financial misappropriation and forgery that have been refuted by the law minister and his wife.

Arvind Kejriwal, sitting on a protest at Parliament Street police station, has been demanding Khurshid be arrested for alleged misappropriation of funds from the Ministry of Social Justice by his trust, quoting a CAG report which alleges “misappropriation of a grant of Rs 71.5 lakh, interest of Rs 15.49 lakh thereon and the irregular release of a further grant of Rs 68.25 lakh”.

According to the report, on the basis of recommendations of the Uttar Pradesh government, a grant-in aid of Rs 71.5 lakh was sanctioned to Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust Delhi, as a non-recurring grant in 2009-10 for distributing aid and appliances under a scheme to be implemented in 17 districts across Uttar Pradesh.

Arvind Kejriwal had posed five specific questions to Mr Khurshid:

1. Your organisation had presented a letter from the Uttar Pradesh government to the central government which, while calling the work of your organisation satisfactory during 2009-10, recommended releasing further funds for your organisation. This letter bears the signature of Mr Ramraj Singh, the then special secretary to the UP govt. But as per media reports, Mr Ramraj Singh says that these are not his signature. He further says that he retired in January 2011, while this letter is shown to have been written on March 24, 2011. Do you agree that your organisation showed this forged letter to try and obtain a grant next year?

2. Your organisation has presented an affidavit by J.B. Singh, UP government's former CDO, where he is shown to be praising your organisation's work. But Mr J.B. Singh maintains that this affidavit too is forged and he has not given any such affidavit. Do you agree that this affidavit is forged? If yes, then why did you enclose this forged letter?

3. On 12 June 2012, Akhilesh Yadav government wrote a letter to the union government which alleges that a lot of signatures in the reports presented by you to the union government are forged. In your opinion is this letter from the UP government real or forged?

4. Your organisation has claimed that you organised such and such camps for the handicaps in such and such districts and distributed equipment to them. According to an enquirty conducted by Akhilesh Yadav's government neither any such camps were organised on those dates nor any equipment was distributed. Do you agree with the charges levelled in this letter dated June 12, 2012 by the UP government?

5. The handicapped who your organization claims to have given equipment's to say that they did not receive any such things. If these people say these things in public, would you resign from your post in the Union Cabinet?

In response in a 100 minute long press conference, Mr Khurshid offered what he said was proof that the camps had indeed been held.

Mr Khurshid also released some photographs purporting to show that the very person Mr J.B. Singh, UP government's former CDO, who had claimed that an affidavit in his name presented by Mr Khurshid as praising Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust, was a forgery, was present at one of the camps along.

In response, Me Kejriwal has claimed as follows:

"Salman Khurshid has refused to answer any of the five questions asked by us. All he has done is to show a photo in which he says J.B. Singh (the officer whose signature has been forged) is there.

But here also he got caught. In the banner in the image the date is of the year 2010-11 and not of the year 2009-10 during which the funds have been swindled [The banner in the photo released apparently reads 17 July 2010]

Mr Khurshid then brought forward a person called Rangee Mistri who says that he got hearing aid two years ago. We also will bring forward a person in response.

We also want to know what our PM thinks in this matter.

If Salman Khurshid doesn't resign then we will field a handicapped person against him in 2014 and make sure that Mr. Khurshid loses," Arvind Kejriwal.

IAC update on Facebook:

This image was released by Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid in a press conference as a proof of his honesty.

However, it is notable that the date on the banner in this image shows a date in July 2010 while the swindling of funds took place in the year 2009-10.

Can we believe on anything that Mr. Khurshid has said in the press conference?

So Arivind Kejriwal has proved right !!

'Rs 3 crore anomaly in Khurshid, wife's trust:-

LUCKNOW: The economic offence wing of UP Police on Friday informed a Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court that it had prima facie found anomalies to the tune of Rs 1.30 crore in the functioning of the Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust run by Union external affair minister Salman Khurshid and his wife.

Taking cognizance of the report, the court issued notice to the trust and asked why it should not be directed to deposit the amount with the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment, and wait for the final disposal of the case.
A division bench of Justices Uma Nath Singh and Satish Chandra then asked the Trust to explain its position. The next date of hearing in the case is March 21. The order was passed on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by social activist Nutan Thakur on October 15, 2012, in which she had sought registration of a case on the basis of the charges levelled against the trust. In her petition, Thakur, while expressing doubt over free and fair inquiry into the allegations, had requested the court to supervise the probe.

While investigating officer SK Singh appeared before the court on behalf of the EOW with a progress report on Friday, additional advocate general Bulbul Godial apprised the bench that investigations had been carried out in 17 districts, with 36 witnesses being examined. She said the EOW in its probe had so far detected anomalies of around Rs 1.30 crore''

What a slur brought on the name of an extremly honest Prez of India !!

Some journalists are waking up to st. kejriwals game

Because he says so
For Kejriwal and his crew, political targets are guilty until proven guilty

After launching a scorched-earth campaign against Law Minister Salman Khurshid, accusing his NGO of skimming off lakhs of rupees from funds for the disabled, and demanding nothing short of his immediate resignation, arrest and incarceration, Arvind Kejriwal has abruptly called off this round. His next event, a fresh set of “exposes”, has been set for October 17.

For over a week now, Kejriwal has kept the public discourse spinning with allegations of corruption. He levels charges and puts the burden of proof on the accused. He demands an investigation on his terms — everything else is a bad-faith compromise. In Khurshid’s case, Kejriwal alleged that the UP government was not likely to set up a trustworthy probe, because that’s how favour-swapping, corrupt politics works. Then, he shifted the focus to suit him, from embezzlement to bad book-keeping to shoddy delivery. He declared Khurshid’s evidence invalid and suggested that witnesses will inevitably be influenced, because after all, the law minister can “break anyone and force anyone to say anything”. In other words, Kejriwal closes off any possibility of fair scrutiny, and those he declares corrupt must be so because he said so. He is waging a war of impressions, and proof is besides the point. He is talking to those who who share his radical distrust of politicians and political institutions, who assume the worst based on scanty information.

Okay looks like the paid journalists of CON-party are having too much work these days..

It is very bad very bad.. this is festival season, Navratri, Diwali and Barkrid  so secular Congress party workers aka paid journalists need a festival break right?

So dear Kejriwal, please spare the CON party for a few weeks and allow them to celebrate Bakrid and Diwali in peace.

And meantime, let the Loot continue . Inflation is very high these days and beni prasad and khurshid need crores and not lakhs to fund their festival expenses, right?
