Yogendra Yadav succinctly sums up the whole l'affaire Vadra: (a rough summing up - not a full transcription):

Are we dealing with wild allegations? Each allegation made here is backed by a document. Not one of these documents has been claimed to be forged by anyone.

These documents have been checked by independent media like the Hindu etc.

Will the case presented by Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal lead to foolproof legal conviction? We do not.

But the questions we are asking are basically three:

1. Is Mr Vadra's dealing a a healthy, normal business practice -- an ethical practice which then every business man in the country should try and emulate?

2. Is the conduct of Haryana government in public interest?

3. Is the conduct of a very, very powerful person in this country connected to the most powerful family - does it meet the minimum norms of political morality?

These are larger questions, not of conviction of an individual. These are questions of propriety and not legality.

Could Mr Vadra not have learnt something from the PM's family whose behaviour has been exemplary because despite all other charges against the PM, not a finger has been raised against any of the PM's close relatives.

The Prime Minister keeps talking about Caesar's wife who should be above suspicion. The same should apply to Mr Vadra

Dhushyant Dave:

In the Ramayana, the dhobi had just raised a question about Sita. And Lord Ram ensured that she underwent a test by fire. You control the CBI. The people of the country are not asking anything more than the fact that Mr Vadra should undergo an investigation and prove out innocent.

Yogendra Yadav:

All that is required is a credible, independent investigation

One question was bothering me: Why, if Kejriwal has the information which he believes is very credible, he doesn't go to the court? Then I saw him telling Arnab Goswami of Times Now that his intention is not to go to the court and nail an individual. I also saw Prasant Bhushan telling Arnab Goswami that, if they go to court, who would investigate, if not the agencies under the government's control? This means that Kejriwal, Bhushan, etc. want the government to carry out an inevstigation by the government, headed by an agency independent of the government, perhaps headed by a retired judge. Well, it seems this is not going to happen, because the government simply doesn't want to investigate. In the meantime, a social activist, Poonam Thakur, has filed a PIL with the Allahbad high court that the government should investigate, and the court has given the government three weeks to reply. This does it then. The government would file its reply. The court may order an investigation by the CBI, or any other agency, or it may throw out the petition. One way or the other, the suspense would be over. One thing, though. What would be the reaction of Kejriwal, Prshant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, etc. if the court throws out the petition?

How many investigtions will have to be launched on how many citizens and at what cost in order to get Mr. Kejriwal elected to something or the other?

Mr. Yogendar Yadav - I did hear your comments on NDTV! If you are an academic, then to my way thinking as an academic myself, I find you have no logice and you are as thick ad two short planks.

Let Logic be damned, we will make do with truth.

You and your "Despot" colleagues are doing immense damage to my country India. You are your colleagues are creating an Anarchy in India. Are you not ashamed when you tell people to break the law by not paying electricity bills, and you and your colleagues go and reconnect the connections of people who do not pay their bills.

Gandhi did something similar in Dandhi, it is called civil disobedience. Borrowing from the great man himself "so long as disobedience remains civil and therefore necessarily non-violent " we are good.

Are you stupid enough not to understand the fundamental that you have got to pay to consume a utility?

This is from a report in the Hindu titled: MPs’ power, phone dues run into crores

According to documents accessed through the Right to Information Act, the unpaid electricity bills of former and sitting MPs in the New Delhi Municipal Council area run into a whopping Rs. 6.27 crore. As many as 3,335 former and sitting MPs have not paid their power bills belonging to the October 2011 billing cycle, as per the information given to RTI activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal by the Union Urban Development Ministry.

Besides defaulting on their power bills, the former and sitting MPs also owe the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited Rs. 7.29 crore in dues, according to an RTI reply from MTNL. The outstanding phone bill belongs to usage beyond the cap of 1,50,000 free calls per year the MPs are entitled to. The MTNL said action was being initiated for recovery of the dues “as per rules”.

Is poverty a crime, Mr. Shorey?

You should feel ashamed of your behaviour and that of your colleague mad Kejeriwal.

As for Kejrival. Looking at the agitation on the faces of Congress' rank and file, seems he has hit where it could hurt the most. As they say, " Ab teri himmat ka charcha, gair ki mehfil me hai"
