In a throwback to the Salman Rushdie row in Jaipur, the official release of the seventh part of controversial author Taslima Nasreen's book Nirbasan (Exile) at the Kolkata Book Fair was cancelled today following protests by religious fundamentalists.

I am very intrigued. What does it mean? Does it have racist or religion-specific connotations? I thought it was just a slang word for fundamentalists. Is calling fundamentalists fundoos as bad as targeting an author for writing a book and giving her death threats and making it impossible to live in a state and throw flower pots at her?

>> Targetting a book is as obnoxious as using words like "fundoos" in headlines!

Coming from those who liberally use fascist, Nazi, Hitler, Goebbels in their posts, this is hilarious.
