It is now obvious (which was under carpet since 2004) is that the PM is a wolf in a sheep's clothing. I salute Sonia to appoint him as her watchdog PM who will shield her and her family.

MMS has done a commendable job of keeping Sonia insulated from all the responsibilities that are associated with unbridled power over a billion peiople (as she is the 9th most powerful leader).

All said and done, Media (fed on Congress mopney) is not going to tell the king that he is naked.

"there is going to be heightened pressure on the Prime Minister to explain how he could say that he first came to know about the case in the meeting of September 3, 2010 from Ms Sushma Swaraj when the 2008 letter clearly shows his awareness of the case"

He will claim amnesia. Or like Bill Clinton, he will explain what "know" really means. Bill Clinton looks more truthful compared to Integrity Singh.

What more proofs you want to unmask the government / congress party's character? Why is not media questioning/debating on such a critical issue - Prime Minister of India lying in Parliament !!! How Cheap & shameful. PM is making fool of everyone, including the members of Parliament. Is he going to come back and say, "oh, its error of judgement again" or plead "memory loss" ? PM must resign and dissolve the government; so far, everyone use to think, he has been inefficient and a puppet but he is turning out to be a cheat and liar.

Why the government, including PM, were persistent on P J Thomas appointment - that too specifically for CVC twice? Can the investigating teams in India probe this angle ? I believe his appointment is not for covering up past but to make "corruption raj" stonger. Incidentally he is the telecom secretary during Corruption Raja's (A Raja) regime.

"The PM forgot" defense does not hold water for another reason. The Center defended the appointment of Thomas in SC. Are we supposed to believe that while preparing the brief, they did not look over old documents? Are we supposed to believe that these three letters escaped the scrutiny of the officials in the PMO and the AG's office?

And everyone knew the PM was going to be questioned on this subject. Are we supposed to believe that PM was not briefed properly? What sort of a team is he heading if they overlook such basic facts? How are we to believe anything this PM says?

the PM is becoming more stupid and looks idiotic with this utterances.he has to stand up to his appointment and file a review in supreme court or try drastic measures like 9TH schedule for CVC appointments or make  P J thomas a governor of some state to mock at the courts and show his power.

he is making the office of primeminister worser than a court dawali and the judicial mafia is laughing all the way and trying to run the country.u will again regain the honesty shield if u change the age limits for CVC and make kapadia  the vedantha shareholder (suits your economic agenda)the next CVC chief(the judgement pleads for that as NHRC is not vacant).poltics is for people who have guts and unfortunately when a foisted uneducated rabri gained it by chair in duecourse u are totally devoid of it

Thinking the issue over, I have revised my opinion and decided to give the benefit of doubt to Singh. I made a totally unwarranted assumption that our PM is aware of something. We all know that is not the case. The great PM of India is really not aware of anything that happens around him. He is always in nirvikalpa samadhi.

So it is quite possible that PM was not aware that the matter was submitted to the PM.

"Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Saturday said that it is not Manmohan Singh but the office of Prime Minister that is lacking integrity." (TOI).

What did I tell you?

Well, from  facts mentioned in both print & electronic media, Prime Minister and Home Minister should have examined the matter when Sushama Swaraj, leader of Opposition & Member of Selection Board raised an objection instead of going ahead and appointing Thomas as CVC. Sushama Swaraj's Note of Dissent was a pointer that any sensible prson should have considered. Why this was not done raises many question and accountability should not be diluted

There has been enough debate about the PM and HM having prior knowledge of P J Thomas carrying dubious credential, charge sheet etc.I think there is not an iota of doubt it. The disturbing factor is that even after the Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha brought this fact to the notice of the high powered committee headed by the PM himself, what was the tearing hurry in overlooking this fact and rush  through the appointment of Thomas as  CVC? The moot point is : What was the pressure that prevented both the PM and HM from applying their minds and from which quarter? It is more important to know that.Whether it was compulsions of coalition government, telecom lobby  or 10 Janpath? A mere admission by the PM owning the responsibility for error of judgement ,does not suffice. It raises the level of suspicion of  PM's motive and those of his bureaucratic advisors.Truth must come out.Whom is the PM trying to shield?

The SC ruling to quash the appointment of CVS was solely based on the fact that the PM and other in the committee did not have paper indicating the pending case against Thomas. Now if the PM was fully aware of the case then it nullifies the premise upon which the SC verdict was based. So in light of the new evidence the judges should go back and quash their own verdict to terminate Thomas the CVC.

Answer to the question you raised is - we don't know. You either need to hire top notch detective or minutely examine political events to figure out why PM made this decision. I agree it is people's interest to know the facts. But this kind of discussion and speculation should not be relevant to the judiciary. As a retired civil servant, you should know the boundaries of political leadership, bureaucracy and the judiciary.

I will believe that the PM & HM are clean & honest people only and only when they accept the fact that they were lying and resign not only from their posts and  but also from the congress party which is the party of liers and refuse to surrunder their loylty, at least in future, to "2G"s.

People ask, what more proof we need to unmask Government/PM/Congress?  Why Indian media is so silent?  For answer look no further.  Just read Mr. Vinod Mehta's Editorial in this issue of Outlook.  See how he praises our 'Integrity' Prime Minister as a "Survivor" (and of course then some).  With opinionator like him, who needs Arundhati Roy?
