‘I Cried To My Mom That I Did Not Want To Be In Front Of The Camera’
COMMENTS PRINT

From the beginning, I hated being in front of the camera. I was 17 when I did my first ad for Electrolux. I remember I was studying for my board exams. At the end of it, I cried to my mum that I never wanted to do this again. It made me extremely uncomfortable. But seven years down the line, I have a more mature way of looking at stardom, which came with my first Telugu film, Devadasu, when I was 18. I have now realised that it’s not all that bad. I’ve learnt to respect my profession now. But my dream is to be a singing star because I have always wanted to travel the world and sing. I will have to wait for that. I have more films and there’s the excitement that my debut in Bollywood, Barfi, has done well and has been named the Indian entry to the Oscars.
