They seem to have got a patent on the title but no, it's not those guys in eastmancolor we're talking about. Not the one in shiny spandex on the dance floor, nor the strong and silent type who prowls about in underworld noir scenarios. Not even the real heroes of the grand scale, those who led the people through moments of history. Here, we feature heroes of the little, everyday histories, who exceeded the bounds of their petty existence in singular, lonely acts of nobility. No story will ever record-and enshrine for posterity-the Dalit municipal worker who cleaned the streets of hundreds of human carcasses with his bare hands. The law student who still travels island to island to help faceless victims get legal succour. The bus driver on a shanty, industrial route who made his biggest journey in a split second.
