Aparna Chandra She is best known for her men's kurtas and even suits. Chandra finds that since she is designing for the opposite sex, there is a certain factor of attraction involved that lends a special touch to her creation for the XY chromosome.

Kiran Uttam Ghosh She dresses up her male clients the way she would dress up her ideal man. "They should be spirited, spunky and sensitive,'' says Ghosh. Materially, that translates into paper shirts and kanjeevaram lungis and even saris. At her last year's IFW show, she presented three male models draped in a sari.

Krishna Mehta When she designs for men, Mehta says the final result moves her to heights of pleasure. Creating something for the other half of the population is a more satisfying experience than designing for women. "Because you don't have many options to play around with while designing for men, dressing them up is more difficult," says Mehta, who does only traditional Indian outfits for men.

Priyadarshini Rao She launched her men's line in 1998 at Melange in Mumbai and was hugely successful. Her white linen and silk embroidered men's kurtas are always a sellout at Raymond's Be:. Her designs are best suited for the urban bohemian man who concentrates more on silhouettes and the fabric.
